Amsoil engine oil
« on: March 21, 2010, 12:45:56 PM »
Went for my 10K servicing at TCM and paid for the Fastflo oil. Can feel the revving a little rough. Previous 1K and 5K was on mineral oil. After my 5K servicing, drove to KL and manage to get 16+km/L but after the 10K servicing only can get 15km/L.
Read so much abt the amsoil and was thinking of changing to it. Which amsoil oil would be good to change, 5W30, 0W30? Ride is sport 4AT.

Bro i have been all along using 5W30 amsoil from 10k servicing onwards i must say this is a good and value for money engine oil but recently i got to know of this website call motor oil evaluator and i got to find out that their 10W30 oil score higher than 5w30 and signature series 0W30!!! its a surprise to me and i thought signature series should be the best right? Wrong! it score the lowest points over comparing the 3 oils! 10W30 will be my next oil change   nontheless Amsoil is a leader in almost all category base on that website beating all other major brands like mobil 1 in almost every category!

I went to an ESSO petrol kiosk at Lavender to have my EO and engine oil changed.

I bring my own AMSOIL EO to change, they charge me 25 dollars for the labour as well as an oil filter.

Anyone got cheaper lobang?  :yehyeh:

No need to change filter as it still new, why not wait till 5000km then change to Amsoil ?

hi sorry to hijack this old thread... just wanted to check any bros out there who have used both amsoil engine oil and castrol edge before. Any bro kind enough to share experience and comments?

looks like on the "bob the oil guy" webbie, they only have castrol syntec for comparison but not the malaysia refined castrol edge.

I actually used amsoil 5w30 and flush only at 9 months after 8k mileage. Even at its 9th month, this amsoil oil i still super smooth.

I like this oil and has just renewed with amsoil 5w30 again... wonderful to me smooth ride cold or hot

I used castro 5w40 and amsoil 5w30 before, engine seems to be a little more noisy when using castrol but the performance remained constant throughout 10k. For amsoil, engine seems to be a little quieter and pickup is better but the performance seems to drop after 7~8k usage
