Did my repair and cough out 9k :crycry:

All latio owner pls take care of the CVT gearbox... i will never buy a car which uses CVT anymore.

Where you did your repair, 9K is really expensive.

from most of the posts, seems like our latio cvt will start to give problem at 100k km or 5 years, seem like i still got around 1.5 years to decide whether to buy extended warranty or change car  :bleh:.

I change it at peow motors at kaki bukit auto bay. Price i round off near to 9k. It is a new one.

I suggest that for CVT servicing better go back tan chong and service. Our CVT too Sensitive already.

Actually it is more on how we maintain the CVT.  I was driving my Civic ES8 CVT for close to 7 years and clock 170K without problem.  I change my CVT oil every 20K at my usual workshop.  My driving style is normal maybe I will redline once a week during overtaking.

The CVT oil is not that expensive, 4 bottle of Honda CVT oil is about $30 if you buy from distributor.  I guess Nissan CVT oil should be around the same price too.  If you go AD to change CVT oil, guess you got to pay $100 or more.

CVT must take care not like normal AT.  Some owners who too use to driving AT don't even know need to change gearbox oil.

I love CVT very much.  If I would to buy a new car will go with CVT without question.  If second car I will think twice since I know nut how the previous owner take care of his/her CVT.

TCM only change for me at 60k km.

actually even if $100 per tin I also dun mind changing every 20k km, but is there any guarantee that by doing this the cvt can last longer?

just like changing of the aircon filter regularly also doesn't prevent my air-con compressor/cooling coil from damage. I also make an it a habit to off the air-con before switching off my car, doesn't help in any way

There is not guarantee but at least we do what we can to protect the gearbox.

Hi all..

Like to share and confirm from what I had heard that it is highly recommended to change to original Nissan CVT / ATF oil..

other brands will make your gearbox up lorry very fast as the chemical contents are different..

Can I check from the bros whose gearbox up lorry do you change CVT oil (Nissan) or other brands??

Thank you

If Nissan CVT gearbox then it is better to replace with Nissan CVT oil.  For normall AT any brand will do.

Actually I almost bought the CVT version. My salesman asked me if I wanted to change from 4AT to CVT after Ibooked my car. Thank goodness I did not,
