Engine Noisy when Rev-ed
« on: June 01, 2010, 02:51:08 PM »
Hi all. My prob is different from the earlier post by another bro.

My engine makes a plar plar plar sound when rev-ed from 2.2k - 2.8krpm in N gear. It's smoother above 3krpm but still noisy. Sounds like there's water in the engine and the exhaust is blowing it out. However, I've checked that the sound is coming from the front (engine compartment). The engine does not vibrate when reving. I brought it to TC and they said the problem is something like "pinging" caused by the spark plugs not firing at the right time. After one round of tuning (ECU I guess), the sound still does not go away. Sounds the same.

When D is engaged, the sound can be heard clearly when it changes gear. Can somebody advise?
