** clog clog sound** when going up the hump ..
« on: September 02, 2010, 09:39:48 PM »
i encountered this **clog clog sound ** whenever i pump full tank on my ride. Hard to describe the sound, but sounds a frog croak...

I went to TCM at bukit timah and the service enginner by the name of steven claim that it is due to my front strut bar. NOt sure if any lation encounters this problem and can advise?

Many Thanks!

Full tank .heavy then got sound , empty tank light liao then no sound .. :D  no logic. Any sound with full load..might be the rear suspension or the rubber seal

Need to change steering wheel joint.  I changed mine twice, but the sound still came back.  No more warranty, so no more changing.

sometime at low rpm on flat surface also have that sound coming from bottom of the car right? I also want to find the source of the problem and fix it.

people told you that he heard that the clog clog sound (like fog makes noise) while he pump full tank on his ride... definitely it is not related to the strut bar (neither front strut bar nor rear strut bar). Should be something related with the fuel tank (i don't believe the 45 Liters of petrol will make your suspension to spoiled lor)... Maybe...just maybe...the is a fog living inside your fuel tank. :D

aiya agent's service advisor is always like that wan lah, whenever we highlight probs to them they will blame the cause of it to our 3rd party mods/accs...

i encounter once when i send in my car to ubi ctr i complained of excessive vibration goin on when start engine, the advisor did a dianostic & charge me $60+ for it.

Ended up say his handheld thingy shows no fault or error detected & carry on by blaming that its the aftmkt suspensions that is the cause of it...

Damnz end up was the drive shaft issue, thus causin all the vibrations ...

Mine latio sedan (Oct 2005 batch, mileage now 125k) had croak croak croak sound in mid 2008 and TC mechanic said it is pinging sound. The sound would come when going up ramp (wind down window can hear very obvious) and sometimes on straight road also when very light footed on the accelerator.   They asked me what petrol I using and I told them Shell 95.  They asked me to upgrade to higher grade but I said why should I as the car should be able to function normally on Shell 95.  TC then changed the ECU for me (luckily was under warranty, otherwise cost $2k!!!) and the croak croak croak sound disappeared.  Unfortunately it has come back since past few months now so now I using the highest grade petrol, (now using Esso).  The sound minimised by about 90% now after 3-5 tank top-ups.   Lets hope it will disappear soon.  Very paiseh - like old car sound.

Not sure if your car ECU is within warranty after 5+years. TCM might be using the recent recall to change your ECU. Check here https://vitas.lta.gov.sg/EvPublicEnquiryServlet if your car is affected by the recall on ECM.

The relay changed for my ride has nothing to do with the ECU but more to the electrical power distribution board of the card which is just under the dash board so it's not possible that they change your ECU during the recall.
