Window Visor Starts To Get Annoying
« on: October 11, 2010, 02:00:01 PM »
I installed Visors for quite awhile already.
Visors are from Tan Chong.
Have been asking them to restick them but turns out they made it worse.
Now there's a clicking sound when driven on the road.
Feel like going to buy a glue gun to stick myself.
Will it be lasting?
Any bros tried this already?

You've got to remove all the double side tapes and redo everything from scratch, if not, they will come off again and my advice is to stay away from glue gun.

Hmmm, but it seems like Tan Chong uses glue gun. :/
By the way, thanks for your advice. (:

Ya, double sided tapes worked wonders. The clicking sound was very obvious during high speed on N-S highway. After using that, it is silent!

So now, i should remove the visors and put with 3m tape?
Or do I just touch up with 3m tape?

Anyway, most of the visors warp after some time under the sun, do get the better grade visor which is thicker. Once warp, the double sided tapes will fail whether 3M or 4M.

So I shouldn't wrap. Well, in that case, should I remove my current visors installed by Tan Chong and retape them with 3m double sided tapes or should I just touch up to those sides which are causing the noise?  :confused1:

Yup. Just remove the old tape and re-tape all the way.. Should solve the problem.

Free Visor come with cheapo tape, change to 3M you never wrong.

Most of them spray paint their visor to their body colour.. up to individual.

I removed visor becoz:

1: tarpped more dust & dirt behind visor.
2: Car wash alway cannot clean to part behind the visor and leave water marks
3: produce wind noise while high speed (above 80km/h)
4: it get loose & never notice, one day it might fly off while travelling & cause danger to other road user
5: ugly tape mark after removed.

My visor not free. (: Anyway, true that it will be inconvenient as it will cause 1 & 2, but then again, you wash yourself can clean the parts will not :P Just need to scroll down your window then click then scroll back up.  Still have not experience 3.4.5. :D After you tell me, feel like removing because of 5. :O

Had visors on my previous rides. Totally agreed, esp point 3. So for my latio this time round i'm not going to put any visors

at my last servicing, i saw TCM advertising the latio visor for less than $50.

i remember when i bought this so-called original nissan latio visor from japan a few years back, i was charged more than $100 by TCM, the parts counter guy even explain to me why so expensive with reasons such as,

a) comes with clips & double-sided tape, so won't fly off lah
b) less windnoise lah
c) wont decolor lah

actually windnoise still have lah, but so far, my visor haven't flew off yet

good to have as I wind the windows down a little on hot afternoons - car is a little cooler when you get back into it
Be safe. Go with the flo.

Is there any point of having the visor besides making the car look nicer?
Its provided to me free and I am wondering if I should remove it...

As stated by Bro Silver, you could wind down yr windows a little if u are parking at open carpark, thus making yr ride not that hot...
