3rd party insurance claim
« on: November 08, 2010, 10:11:34 PM »
Hi all,  I'm newies, Ijust bought my 2nd hand Sport Premium this August.  Last week, I parked my ride at a side road which is slightly on a slope, somewhere at Nassim Rd.  When I was walking back towards my car, I can't believe my eyes, from a distance I saw a lorry in front of my car suddently rolled back and bang into my front, damaging the front bumper, bonnet, headlight, grills, etc.  The lorry driver admitted he was at fault that he accidentally lost his handbrake.   I have made an accident report.  Luckly I was at the right time to witness the accident. If I were to go back to my car 5 mins later, I believe the lorry driver might have spilt.     So since I'm making a 3rd party claim, my question are;   - Should I send to TCM to make the claim as all parts are genuine?  - Should I send to those outside workshop that specialised in accident claim and repair?  -As my ride is already 3 and a half years, will I get new parts for those damaged parts?    Appreciated any advise anyone can give.

Mine is OAC, The other party is under NTUC. And the liability for my damage has already clear.

Yes, TCM do make 3rd party claim, and I've finally decided  today to let them do the damage.

The only thing TCM didn't provide is a replacement vehicle, I've out sourse and pay my RV first. Then submit my receipt to TCM and they will claim on my behalf after the repair.
The final decision that why I sent my ride to TCM instead to outside workshop is because I'm worry that outside wkshop will not replace new parts, instead they might sourse re-con parts and make it look like new, just to increase they profit margin.
Hope TCM will not disappoint me in their accident claim & workmanship, hope they will replace whatever damaged parts that are beyond repair and not just to make good, . X-fingers!!.
Still driving my Latio, awaiting for the surveyor to assess my damage before sending in to TC.

I remembered that you have to claim against your own insurer 1st

TC will assist to get a lawyer to claim from the other party's insurer
Be safe. Go with the flo.

I think they selective. If 50-50, they might tell you they don't do.
My case, someone bang from behind. TCM asked for the other side Insurer and check with them. The other side admit liability and they proceed with the repair.
Actually, took them a few days before they called me to send my car to them for repair.
Oh yes. If you want to repair immediately, claim your own insurance first.

Btw, already >6 months ago. I have yet to receive my medical claim and loss of use claim.

my previous Nissan vehicle suffered a rear-end collision - clear-cut case
it was processed as a claim against my own insurer with TC "assisting" with a lawyer to claim against the driver behind
TC claims executive categorically said that TC does not process 3rd party claims
Be safe. Go with the flo.

Collected my car from TCM today. Very satisfy with the workmanship though. Took them only 4 days to replaced all the damaged parts; bonnet, bumper, headlight and the front grill.  Good job!!
