Hi,

I try my best to answer your below queries,

Latio has a larger interior than Vios, after putting two child seat, there is still room for one at the back.

1. Autoaid does it approx. $400-$500. Check the forum, there is on bro here able to do it at a better pricing
2. If you are afraid of CVT issues, get 4AT
3. Damm steering coupling, that goes tok tok..tok. But no safety issues, just irritating
4. Nope, still enjoy driving my 6yo Latio.
5. Sorry not interested, ah pek already. Cannot take speed

mine also 05 sedan.

If you are looking for "doors", Latio is the one. My wife test car by enter/get out  the rear row while caring baby. Just look at the door design and the seat height btw the two model (that time was comparing the old vios). A lot of leg space at the rear too.

Now with 2 kids, Latio is just nice with 2 adults + 2 kids on their booster seat/baby seat but adding another adult will be a little cramp. You may want to consider car like WISH if you intend to have 2 or more kids in near future.

1) fix mine at $480.
2) CVT, still ok. You don't feel the gear change, I guess it will be a big different coming from Integra.
3) No major issue, some wear and tear item to replace such as power window module etc.
4) On one hand I want to change to car like WISH, but I will miss Latio. So used to it now.
5) :) I need more seat and boot space.

My ride is an 06 sedan auto. Coming from an Integra, you must understand that the Latio's accelleration will be quite lacking but once it gets up to pace, cruising is a breeze, the auto gearing is quite tall in the latio and cruising at 100kmh the odo is at about 2.3K rpm, engine is quiet unless you push it beyond 3.5K. Sound proofing is quite good. The car is build for comfort. I'm 1.79m, with the driver seat set for my driving, I still have balance room for my knee. Wanted to change to a Touran but decided against it with the COE at it's present level. FC is around 12.5km/L with a 50/50 driving pattern. Most of my trips are less than 20km in Singapore and when I go up north, it reaches 14 to 15km/L. If you have a tendency to drive fast, upgrade the brakes.

Congrates to your new born~!

For this class, I would say Latio is among the top and most aspects are well-balanced.

Spaciousness is the number 1 plus point; There was never any complain that my car is small. Passengers of all ages always in comfort.

This is one of the entry Japanese car that has keyless entry and drive. This is another plus point. It's always better for young parents to have their hands key-free before and after driving.

I would suggest looking into 4AT gearbox. The CVT drive is negligible unless you can't live without the extra features that comes with the CVT model. The major features are the Alcantara leather seats, wooden trims, armrest console, electric-mirrors. Other minor ones are fog-lights and different stock rim design. 4ATs are traditional technologies that have proven reliability. I believe you shall forsee a peace of mind, and lower maintenance. Pre-owned 4ATs are priced at least $1-2K cheaper also.

The air-con issue is a "luck" thing. Not all owners got hit by it. Perhaps you can check with the seller. It will be good that he might have already got them fixed.

FC is reasonable. Mine has been hovering around high 12s to 13km/L even with 17" rims. Of course cannot compete with Vios.

I suggest go for a late 2006 model (MY06). As 2005 was the very first batch, I remembered there were some minor issues where the 06 models had them improved. You can get a decent 2006 model at +/- $35K. There are also some with full service history with Tan Chong.

You will be happier man with a Latio compare to a Vios. All the Best~!

I agreed. I'm also a vios converted to latio. The thing which I missed my vios is its suspensions.

I drove Vios before too. I like the FC and the pickup, dun like the stock 14" rims.
