Hi. I was in Genting when my Aircon failed me. It suddenly don't blow cold air anymore.

Some details:
1) Aircon blowing but hot air.
2) press a/c button got the tuck tuck sound, meaning the switching is ok right
3) day or night, always hot air
4) at KL outskirt, got it inspected at a local workshop. Boss say got gas, likely compressor spoilt. Is it true?

Do u have any workshop to recommend???

I got mine changed at a regular workshop.

$550 change compressor, dryer, top up gas and labour. Reasonable right?

Bro can let us know the name and address of the workshop? BTW my cooling coil also up lorry last month. Went to TC and they quoted me $550 for replacement of the cooling coil. I remember one of the bros here posted that it costs him $400 plus in Apr, so i question them abt it and they told me that was April's special price  :glare: So May going to cost $500 plus, then June going to cost $600 plus and December going to cost 1.2k??  Anyway I told them not to do anything and I drove to Autoaid and was charged ard $550, including cleaning of throttle.

My Aircon compressor up-the-lorry on 9 Jul 11 half way to JB. Went to a 1 shop in JB to check and found that 1 fuse under ECU, controlling the aircon, burnt. Replaced it and aircon compressor start working. After running a while, the mechanic touch the fuse again and comment that it is very hot and told me the fuse will burnt again due to compressor having problem. I touched it and indeed very hot. He manage to get 1 compressor, used by M'sia Lavina/1.5 latio(S'pore) made in M'sia. He commented that there is only 1 such compressor in the market for 1.5l nissan latio in M'sia.
Bargain with him and settle at RM800 with following :
1. Aircon compressor
2. cabin filter
3. dryer
4. Chemical clean on Condenser
5. Top up aircon gas

I got this probelm and recently rectifed.

The compressor wasnt engaged..
The valve which is suppose to engage to compressor fails.

Therefore, bearing and valve were change and now under hot sun also ok.

Hi all,

I have last mentioned my aircon is failing me 2 months ago, then last Thursday, it totally died, no cold air at all.
The hissing sound will be there constantly.

So I went to change my cooling coil last sat morning, total damage is $460.
Cost includes cooling coil, filter, gas topup, labour, gst.
It took them ard 3 1/2 hrs to complete.

Location is at Tomika Bukit Merah, they have another shop at Ubi.

Quite satisfied for now, although not the cheapest if compared to the bros posted above.
Shall monitor for the next few months  :yehyeh: :yehyeh: :yehyeh:

Got this air con problem also.  Air con suddenly blowing hot air.  I off the air con for a minute and on it back, the air con blow cold again. After a few minutes, the same problem occur again.
When to a workshop in JB and check told them the problem. Directly he can pinpoint the magnet coil faulty. After checking and is true that the 'Magnet Coil' in the compressor is faulty. .

Option 1 : Change Magnet coil at RM280
Option 2 : Change re condition compressor with the magnet coil at RM550++

Opt for magnet coil changed at RM280 and it took about 2 hours

Now my latio aircon is normal. hopefully is will last for a while.

Just changed my cooler coil, filter, valve and top up gas plus normal air con servicing <400 at Kim Aircon.  Just a few shops away from Tomika at Ubi.  Highly recommended.  Look for the boss, Mr Loo or Ah Khim.  He is knowledgeable and will give you genuine advice.  Price is very reasonable as well.  TC quoted me >550.
