« on: September 17, 2011, 11:46:44 PM »
Hi All,
I just got a used Latio and the rattling sound at the rear is driving me crazy. I have checked the spare tires and the jack but could not find any issues. Has anyone encountered similar issue and how do i elevate them.
Any advise is much appreciated.. :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1:

did you check whether its your exhaust rattling?

cos i also have the same issue, rattling sound at the rear left. seems like its the exhaust rattling..

went to workshop to check and the person tighten the exhaust and the rattling sound was gone for awhile..

but then the rattling sound came back few weeks ago.... >.<

Sedan or hatch model? If it is hatch, then it could be the hatch lock. Solved mine at TCM BT

i think the rattling came back after i reversed too much into the parking lot... then the exhaust hit the kerb....

if the rattling sound is like coming from your boot then it is the hatch lock, the lock of your 'fifth door'

Hi,

Mine is sedan also have this problem. Usually rear the rattling noise after 50km/h. But went to workshop and jacked up the car. Seems like nothing is loose from the undercarriage. Checked the spare tyre and jack. All are tight. TCM changed the exhaust rubber bushings once. But sound still there.

if the boot lock is not properly aligned (not tight), there will be a small gap allowing the boot cover to vibrate when travelling and thus create a rattling sound

I also experience similar problem. Mine is a sedan '09 facelift. Send to TCM ubi and they just slot in a styrofoam below the rear panel (below the third brake light). at first it was ok but now the rattling is back (after the styrofoam broke..unable to withstand the pressure i guess). Might need to try sending the car to other TCM workshop for second opinion :(

Are you guys facing the sound only when you are driving on an uneven road. I have sent it to few workshops but they can seem to find the problem.
The sound is definitely coming from the rear though. :confused1: :confused1:

I also have this sound. Solve it by using electric tape - black color - and wrap around the D shape latch to make the latch ticker. Don't over do it else you cant close the rear door.
