Bad FC for past 1Mth+
« on: July 02, 2012, 02:30:05 PM »
Juz check, my Latio CVT sedan are in the 5th year liao. Recently, my FC had been quite poor which run less than 400Km for past 1 mth+, used to be 400-420Km. Any particular reasons or advice? Didnt mob any parts of the car and has been regular service every half year.

Check your air filter also. Did you do alot of idling or traffic jam?

Air filter changed when doing half yearly servicing......travel route wont be the same as used it to reach my customer place on and off. I will say about 40% expressway, 60% city. But for past 5 year, my FC havent been that bad.....  :confused1:

Used to get 13-15km /L
After change to better grip tyre, same size,
FC change to 11-12/ L
 :confused1:
But the braking improves

Check if your fuel gauge is working properly.
Mine die last month and have the float replace.

Fuel gauge nothing related to FC. You only need to use distance travelled divided litres of petrol pumped.

use 0W40 for the past 4 years, tried TCM Shogun, Carlube, Agrip, AMSoil, astro boy, valvoline and other brand that I cant recall.

Best experience : valvoline (with engin flush, autosaver) then astro boy.

If I mainly drive in city with W40 oil then full tank can reach ~300+km

Highway within speed limit can reach 500+km per tank.

I'm currently using Redline 5W30. Car's pickup and engine response much much better than the EO TCM used. FC also improved slightly. My mileage is now about 150k.

Hi...

thanks for the feedback...some bros commented to use w-40 EO after certain mileage.

Had gone for 90K service on Wed. Autosaver juz do routine 90K service, engine flush, change aircon filter and ask me to monitor as he didnt found any major problem on my car. Using 0W40, should be Mobil synthetic oil. Will monitor 1-2 month for the FC.

My FC went down from 13.x (Sometimes 14.x) to around 11.5 after I changed my Toyo stocks! :(
