hissing sound from aircon

My aircon started having hissing sound lately. The sound only happen when aircon is on. Its the same sound when you just start the aircon...normally you hear it once in a while but lately it is almost every minute ..anyone knows what's wrong? Gas leak or gas low?

Better send in your car to aircon servicing company to check before your aircon compressor is busted.

I encountered that previously.
The hissing sound is heard every 5 sec.
It is quite obvious in the cabin.
It occurred for about one month before my compressor break down.
Did you change any part recently? For example, your cooling coil?
My advise is to go for a check fast and make sure there's no more hissing sound.

Nope did not change anything previously.... I suspect something is wrong based on what i have read in the forum... But not sure to the extent of the damage...compressor or just a leak... Not sure if i should go tan chong or outside aircon specialist...any good ones to recommend? Anyone change at tan chong before what is the damage?

I got the same problem... Initially is the hissing sound.... then follows my air con not cold when drive slow, but once i pressed accerlator, the aircon becomes cold again then drive slow again, it went not cold again .. so on and on....

After that my aircon totally no air, went to my dad's friend shop and he changes the motor and a regulator or resistor(i think), i thought everything okay liao after paying $460.. Lo and behold.. It doesn't fixed the real problem.. my aircon still not cold when drive slow and pressed accerlator then okay....

After further diagnose, my aircon compressor is going to crap out. This time sian liao.. Go to "Mark Cool or Mark Kool" in woodlands, a brand new air con compressor cost $600... still considering whether to change or wait until totally cannot make it then change lor.

Heard frmo many that Mark Kool in woodlands not bad.. THey dont anyhow change parts or chop you.. Most importantly its service is superb! Lookign for ah huat! nice fellow...

Thanks all...just went down to Kelvin's workshop an hour ago. He replaced the cooling coil which was leaking and the sound is gone. Luckily compressor still working so do not need to change. Other than changing the coil they also top up gas and change the filter as well. all done within an hour as promised. Good and friendly service like what other bros feedback.
