i dont think there will be any harm to our CVT GB if we change the transmission fluid frequently other then burnt wallet. The cvt fluid must be NS-2 from Nissan, no after market type to be use. CVT NS-2 fluid is quite costly, about 90 - 110 per 4 litre. Please correct me if i'm wrong ...

is it true that we can only get it from nissan TC?
no after market? or other shops selling the original nissan cvt transmission fluid ?
& how much do we need? 4litre? or more?

find the dip stick for the auto box, and check the color of the oil... my previous cvt oil original is red, turn black must change... as my latio only 9mth.. i still dnt knw wat is the original color and where is the dip stick for the auto box...

till date, only hear bad things about the belt tensioner and battery... not heard anything bad about nissan cvt in latio yet... hee...

Hi spyder_696, still not sure where to look for dip stick lei (the dip stick for eng oil can be found)...should be the the stick at middle below right? If yes, how to open the cover? Have try service at Malaysia but the info gather from them very diff from S'pore lei ...eg. they are also using hand held electronic device, and showed me the gear milleage is diff from car milleage, eg. car milleage at 45kkm but gear milleage only at 12kkm...worst still :out: :out: :out:has been advised that our cvt fluid can last upto 210kkm lei ::) ::) ::)hee...hee.....believed sound very confuse to many, but this is my true exp in Malaysia...thinking of going to autosaver on my next service...rather be safe than be sorry....

the cvt dip stick is some where btw the battery and the coolant cap... check fluid level  when engine is running... for my last cvt.. i change the cvt oil first time at 38k... then gearbox start to slip before it hit 70k, i change cvt oil again... then near 100k, gearbox is really bad... sold off immediately... tat was a mit cvt...

for my latio.. i will change inbtw the recommended mileage, as i drive very little and very hard... hee...

tat is just me...

from what i understand, we are to use only Nissan NS-2 CVT oil and not any other brands. Please confirm if otherwise.

If you are refering to other garage selling NS-2 Nissan CVT oil is possible cos many places carries this oil. But if you are refering to CVT oil from other makes and brands, then I not sure whether can our car GB uses them ... Please check with Experts only and advise back in this thread for others informations ... thk u...

Hi All CVT latio owners...

I have a puzzling question.. my friends told me that CVT engine can last at most MAX 120K mileage and BYE BYE... let's say monthly mileage=2000 km*12mths=24k yearly .. so can drive for 5 Years only..

True ??  :confused1:

Thank you

go and google nissan techincal website to read more about nissan extronic cvt...

i think they lock their torque convertor quite frequently...
so it is not as smooth as a cvt shld be...
but shld be able to outlast other cvt boxes ba...
