Water pump leakage
« on: January 05, 2013, 11:06:51 AM »
Slight leakage of water pump.

Tan Chong asks me to monitor.  How if I want to change, it will cost $300 at tan Chong.

Any bro got cheaper lobang to do at outside workshops?

Thanks

bro, I think you ask Kelvin to check for you. Sometime it is the way they work, trying to earn more money from you. actually, there's nothing wrong with the water pump and it can still work for another couple of years.

My suggestion

Just see if you need to top up water every week for more than 250ml, then better get it check ASAP.

Sometime may not be the pump but it's connection.

Check your radiator.  After moving, park ur car with ur engine on, open your bonnet and check your radiator surrounding for any leaking.

Thanks for all the kind replies.

By opening up the bonnet and check the radiator, is it to see the coolant is leaking from the radiator box?

Also, if the problem is serious enough, will there be any indication or warning on the dashboard?

If coolant leak, easy to spot because coolant itself is luminous green. I just changed my radiator assembly after it cracked and burst.. the engine compartment is spilled with the green coolant. Prior to that, one of the tell tale sifn is that the coolant level alwaysdropped below the minmimum mark..

Don't drag ur car, it will burst the leak if there is a weak point.  Quickly, check it up.
