Gratitude and Compliments
« on: September 02, 2013, 05:44:10 PM »
I had to retype my long posting after refreshing the page...
I was driving towards Orchard on Friday(31 August 2013) when I began to hear a consistent drumming sound on the left side of my car after a jerk. I stopped to check but the sound stopped when the car is idling. I googled to find relevant postings on similar experiences and one of the links led me to this forum. Thanks to the forum creator! I read the rave reviews on Kelvin's service and called him. He showed great patience in eliciting information from me and diagnosing my car problem. We concluded that a nut must have lodged in the tyre. So an appointment was made. Impressed by his unassuming disposition, I asked if he could do car servicing as well on Monday(2 Sept 2013). He agreed.
However, when I drove my car out on Saturday(1 Sept 2013), the nut was dislodged from the tyre and I ended up with a punctured tyre on a busy road.

At my wits' end, I called Kelvin to seek his advice on contacts he might have to change the tyre. He asked me if I could wait. And little did I expect him to offer to come over and change the tyre after he is done with his chore. He came as promised and changed the tyre and even advised me what to do later.
I drove car to Kelvin's workshop on Monday (2 Sept 2013) and he explained in great details the parts that need to be changed. He teaches his clients to make informed choices unlike other workshops. Kelvin is meticulous and prompt in his work. When he showed me the substandard air filter installed by my previous workshop, I commented that it's done by XX workshop which is a stone throw away from his, Kelvin merely smiled and not utter another word. Truly remarkable character...

Though my tyre gets punctured by a nut and has to be replaced due to the damaged side wall, I still consider this experience a blessing in disguise. I found a trustworthy person to entrust my little humble car to in the future!
