Even ABS has its limits. I am particularly unimpressed with the ABS on the previous gen of camry and australian Pulsars.
I have not seen a convincing demo of ABS on a consumer car at high speeds yet.
I admit myself I did not personally experienced it although experienced at a lower speed of 50-60km/hr before. No skid.. was a toyota.
I was also told by a customer with ABS brake and brake assist with high speed incident 2 years ago.
Just a brief account.
Was raining. He was travelling approx. 80 km/h on SLE when a motorcyclist buan.
The rider was abt 10 - 20 mtr ahead of him before he buan and he managed to E-brake without skidding and was inches before hitting the injured man lying on the road. His account was that the car dun lock dead immediately the tyre and he could felt the the car was balancing by letting the force released bit by bit before a complete stop. so from the distant he braked to the final distant is approx abt 1 mtr apart or lesser. That's ABS he said.
Why I mentioned bcos he gave me a great impression by keep praising his ABS so on and so on.... non-stop cos he was glad he did not kill the guy. forgot his ride.
