Just check TCM website.  The car price has got up by another 1.5K.  This 1.5K plus the previous round of increase of 3K will add up to an increase of 4.5K.  Looks like TCM is prepared for yet another round of increase in coe in two weeks time.  For a difference of 4.5K, it will definitely be much less profitable for TCM to "honor" and deliver cars to those who paid the CNY promotion price, which also comes with free first year insurance (of up to $1,200) and another 6 months free road tax (another $400+). (The only promotion item currently on is the free 2.5 years maintenance package, which cost slightly over 1K.)  Realistically, the going seems tough.  Think the coe quotas from april will be reduced (correct me if I am wrong).  This means that the fight for coe in the second round of march will be no less competitive.  Just within a month, we are talking about a price difference of $4.5K (excluding the differences in the worth of other promotion package from TCM).  Not sure how big is the price difference for other brands of cars over this one month period.  Just sharing my thoughts.

with COE prices going up, will TCM ever get the bids for us....

If u need a car, no point waste time for 3 more bids and then change to another car...
with coe shooting up, at the end you still need to pay more...

Be cool, try to discuss the option with your SE, try to get the open cat coe from your SE  ;D
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for, in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

good luck!

my friend got his bid first time. he purchased his latio premium last week. so ur SE is just giving excuse.
Think e problems lie with e SE whether he/she wan to fight for u. I alreadly give up on my SE liao. tats y get the open cat last week.
Will be collecting my car nxt week. Will not buy car from TCM again.

Why stingy? Becoz they are trying to play around with COE games in the hope to earn more $$ if possible.

Congrats, Sis.  Finally got your car.  At least you were not asked to top up, unlike some other bros here.

Cheers!

my colleagues are very surprised that TCM fail to secure COE for 3 bids. those who buy last week sure can get the COE cos their car price already factored in the COE hike whereas for us buying at CNY shld secured at ard $12k. although i was informed that i'll get the open cat, until the car is registered then its confirmed. luckily for me, i need not top up to get the open cat. think i'll not buy from TCM the 2nd time.

its not a matter of gian peng lah. i was given 13.1k open cat, price is much lower mah...but Bro Wong got the higher open cat so need to top up. anyway my SE wasted 2 weeks of my time... told him after the 2nd bid i straight away go for open cat but he insisted all his customers all gian the ARF rebate so advise me to follow them even when i said i need the car urgent. sigh

The open cat 13K think was my batch one, they usually buy a few to standby, bro wong a bit suay coz no more liao take the more ex ones.......think if U more assertive, he will listen la. Thinking of the other side, he trying to get best deal for U, on the other hand, maybe he can get better deal out of it, trying his luck only. But the fact is he cannot close deal proper he will kena upside down by management, but his team lead should be supervising them. Dun know what happen as the line got a lot of newbie and "dark" side.

Dun blame TCM, its the pple incompetent. I booked mine from the most senior guy there, so everything was done swee swee. No worries, sometimes U need to know and get the right pple to do the job

believe gian peng or not is a relative thing: it's abt doing the research, knowing what are the bargains & how to. personally gained a lot from this forum thru many info sharing from the bros/sis
i'm not rich, so must always go for "bestest deal", otw, would be going for BMW
if i get coe in 1st bid, then it's gd deal. if i get latest coe now wifout top up, it's fantastic deal. if lose all 6 bids coz i dun want to top up, will walk away frustrated yes, but it's a personal decision so LL have to live with it...personal opinion, no offence to any1 ;D

Think yours is the 13.8K open cat, not 13.1K.  If so, the paper value is worth $12,001 as Cat A.  Since the coe is before march, don't think you will get the 10% ARF rebate (I may be wrong).  However, in actual fact, you do not "lose out" for the full 10% ARF rebate as your car's value will be higher.  Assuming you use the car for 10 full years, the difference in cost is only 5% of ARF.  If you change car earlier, the difference in cost will be even smaller.  At least all the agony of waiting is over.

Cheers!

I did not get the bid this time round.... as expected..

my SE sms me... "TC tried the best despite u did not want to top up the bid... TC revised your bid to 12850 (compared to last bidding 12050) ... They have tried their best and i am equally disappointed as u."

Then follow by:

"Just came out from meeting with mgt fighting for unsuccessful coe case. Mgmt has secured some open cat coe from opem at either 13300 or 13801, Mgt will subsidised some amt but will still charge 1300 if u are keen on the open cat..."

OMG!!!

My SE probably think i m a ********

1) The revised bid of 12850 is still far short of the closing bid of at the time of bidding... TC only up the bid to 12850 (coincidentally with last bid COE) to justify they have tried their best

2) Top up amount of 1300 based on open cat 13300. i.e 13300-1300 = 12000 , which is the maximum COE TCM will bid for my case.

3) Then they might as well ask me to top up at 2nd bid extra 850 to get the COE... why wait till now..

4) If TC had tried their best and is sincere to their customer, then they should have asked me to top up 13300-12850 (based on the 3rd bid) = 450... rite?

Man... this ppl are really too much... think customers are all at their mercy...

My guess is at the CNY offer, TC have done their sum wrongly and push their mistake to the customer....

It is really ******** to sell a car based on COE of 12000 when everyone knows that COE will definitely go up after Feb...

By the way, i did not squeeze the SE to give me the 60112 price... she is the one who agreed to the price with the things i asked for...

Also, I was offered by another SE car price of 59500 becos one of my business contact is a childhood friend of one of the brother in the TC family...

But becos i test drive the car earlier with the present SE and was told my "name" was logged in the TC's database... if i switch SE will create conflict... also i feel paiseh since the present SE help me to get the bank loan approval, etc...

So in the end, i decided to order from the present SE despite i can save at least $500 more...

I guess the morale of the story is :

Ask your SE how much is the COE bid based on the car price they are selling you.... in this way... you know whether the price is realistic ....

and trust no one... not even a AD of the size of TC...

Moving on... I have decided not to top up a single cent... maybe will top up maximum the free abalone they gave during the CNY promo which i have not collected yet.... if TCM really wants me to top up to increase my COE bid for the next 3 rounds of bid...

Now looking at Honda Airwave instead... any bro interested to mass purchase ??

bro, u r funny ;D ;D
and yes, they think we are goondu's. my SE said almost the same to me, but nicer, he say he will personally top up 300 (instead of mgt, tho i think is load of bull), while i top up 700 to get the 13.8k...
wat pisses me off is that the SE told me that last bid "TCM wants all customer to enjoy the arf rebate and they predict COE will go up", that's y we lost it." and yet this is wat happen in this bid, and they just dun wan2 give us the coe...anyway, SE say they will have another meeting to address the customer concerns on Mon, let's c wat they have to say. my SE was apologising profusely, i believe he kena big time by some customers...he din know why is like tt, so i duno wat to believe, just wait till mon.
wouldn't wan2 deal with TCM anymore too...maybe we can go airwave shopping if we lose all bids :bleh:
