erm....i personally have heard of many feedbacks that the Aspec DBs are slippery, especially in the wet. Some argue that these are the new DNA DB, different from the Aspec DB, however, one of my personal friends recently totalled a cefiro which was on DNA DB. According to him, it was a simple scenario, took a bend, tires screeched, tried to counter and turn the head into the intended direction, screeched again and then BANG!! Surveyor declared the car total loss.

Guess what? It was on dry road. not on wet road somemore.

out of curiosity, where was the location where this happened and the speed of the vehicle?
understeer or oversteer condition?

I have been using stock tyres on all my cars and have never experienced such a scenario. I have even used the old model Aspec A300, which many claim to have very poor wet grip. But it served me well even on wet roads.

It might not be entirely due to a specific tyre brand and model.

We need to take into consideration the following factors :

1. At what speed did your friend approach the corner? Was the corner taken at too fast a speed? Cefiro is  family saloon, not a sports car for fast corners.

2. What was the condition of the tyres? Were they over or under inflated or bald at the sides?

3. Was there any traces of oil on the road?

4. Was your friend driving under the influence of alcohol? The slightest amount of alcohol in your blood affects judgement.
