I've just renewed my motor insurance @ AA under the insurance company called Liberty with free AA membership for 1 year!

I saved a good $250 by switching from AIG to Liberty, which offers the same if not better coverage than AIG at a much lower cost. The way I see AIG is that they are too complacent, all they do is just to send renewal letters and expect customers to automaticly renew their insurance with them.

Time to wake up AIG, customers have choices.

Haiz.... have to call them tomorrow and see how. If not i'll call NTUC to ask.

It is 3rd, 6th and 9th year.  Anyway, LTA will inform you when you need to renew road tax time.  (If you ever drive a > 10 year old car, inspection will be more regular.)

my insurance due early May, premium all  going up..Aig quote me $1405 with 10% NCB. NTUC $1322 can go TC for repair. Any good and cheaper recommendation?

My AIG due in July... but quoted $1891 instead of $1425 last July.. Probably due to the minor accident in Apr this year..

Should I continue with AIG? But the claim from the other insurance company not settled yet.. If I switch insurance now, will I be at a disadvantage??  :confused1:

Hi lations,

Currently on my 2nd year with AIG, which will be due in Oct. When I received my ride I was lucky to take over my dad's NCD of 50%, and was charged abt $1050 after discount. On my second year I was charged $1150 after 50% NCD + 5% loyalty plan.

My fren whom used to be SC at TCM Auto (Tamp) mentioned that motor insurance premiums most expensive for 1st time drivers & drivers below age of 29. After hitting the big 30, premiums will start to go down. But nowadays, motor ins premiums increasing due to losses from over-claiming.  :nonod:

Best advice is to do homework earlier & get the best deal before due date  ;)

need new insurance to renew road tax. Which plan is better for those who drive up north frequently? Not looking for cheapest but lots of retriction and have to tow back to Singapore appointed workshop type.

NTUC is bad, I am still waiting for my original front screen  :nonod:

Compulsary inspection is required from the 3rd year omwards and once every 2 yrs up to 10 yrs (ie. 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th year).

After 10 yrs, annual inspection is required.

The LTA system probably screwed up.  :bleh:

By right, you have to send your car for inspection by Mar 2008 (3rd yr) and you can renew road tax and insurance only upon getting a pass.

Better for you. Save $60+ in inspection fees.

Your premiums will be equally high.

You are in the high risk age group which motor insurers shun.

Hi Bro,

Even if you change insurer, you also wont have your NCD. But AIG is one of the highest insurer, so maybe you can find a cheaper one, maybe the premium can still be the same.

Ok...But I still dun get it....If I change insurer yet my premium still the same, why change? Another thing is that AIG highest insurer so isn't it better for mi to continue? Tanks again.....
