Brother, i have been reading about your FC topic, 20km/l is amazing. When you fill up petrol, do u feel to the brim?
I usually fill a fixed amt of 34 litres everytime the light comes on.
FYI:
On Esso/Caltex 95 ~ 15km/litre (before servicing)
On Esso 95 ~ 15km/litre (after servicing)
On caltex 95 ~ 15.7/litre (after servicing)
Front tires 265kpa
Back tires 235kpa
acceleration ~2000 with occasional rev-up
Highway speed ~ usually btw 90-95km/h
Can't improve further liao....
15-16km/l is already very good!
-Slow down further. If you're not in a rush, drop to 80km/h or even 70km/h if you can take it. Wind resistance increases alot as you pass 80km/h. I tell myself to avoid the fast lane, so I won't tend to go so fast.
-Tyre pressure is ok. No need to go higher if you don't feel safe.
-When going uphill, avoid stepping on accelerator to drop gear and raise RPM. Try to keep the accelerator position locked, you will lose a bit of speed, but you save a lot of fuel. If the slope is very steep, its ok to step a bit more, but avoid downshifting.
-The most important thing to work on is braking. I've seen many cars on the road braking unnecessarily. Braking throws your FC out of the window! You are basically losing your momentum to heat energy(useless). If you see a red light, let go of the accelerator. Downslope and you're going too fast, use engine braking instead of brakes. Just avoid brakes as much as possible, and you can definitely improve. I believe this is what is stopping you from better FC.
I always fill to the brim, DIY. Don't really trust the pump attendant to top up all the way.
