100K Servicing
« on: April 25, 2008, 04:36:02 PM »
Hi All,

I ll b doing my 100K (actual ~106K) servicing soon, beside normal servicing, nd to change the Sparkplug and Tyre also.

(1) Tyres : I hv used previously the Toyo stocks (185/65/15) tyres till 55K, then changed to Michellin MX1 (195/60/15) at RM220/pc in KL Msia. Now sourcing around for good deal, TC quoted to me GR80 special promo at $100/pc (for 185/65/15) b4 GST, and $130/pc (for 195/60/15) no promo. There is another Yoko ES501 at $88/pc (for 185/65/15). Is this ES501 good deal? Any other recommendation? I still prefer to use 195/60/15 instead of 185/65/15. Budget mayb ~$100/pc, not sure if outside can get for 195/60/15 size. If cant get gd price here, prob wil go to KL Msia (on my biz trip) n change at my fren's shop as per last time. :)

(2) Sparkplugs : TC said they dont recommend Latio to use normal sparkplug as per Nissan recommendation, therefore got to change back to the Iridium type at $41 x 4 = $164 (not incl labour at $80). Any good advice to where to change same Iridium type cheaper outside?

Btw, I m stil on their NPMP (since 40K), therefore stil hv to go bac to TC to finish using it (tink the 3rd servicing now).

Thank you.

bro lynh1280, if you dont mind me suggesting,

try hankook v8. =]

should be below $100 per piece inclusive of installation.

quiet, grippy. long lasting. cheap. what more can you ask for?

Bro, our Latio original Iridium spark plug can last 100K, so no need to change at ur current mileage..

Btw, I hv talked to Justin again, he recommended new Bridgestone AR10 since he don hv GR80 stocks.. I searched few websites, only can find AR10 recommended in Indonesia, Msia and Thailand. It is oso made in Indonesia or Thailand i tink, therefore cheaper than GR80. Anybody has start using AR10? How is it?

Hi All,

I hv done my 100K servicing at TC Ubi today, booked the 11.30am slot online yesterday (still got slot, strange as usually fully booked 1 week in advance.. reached there 11.30am sharp, but wait damn long till nearly 12pm, so went to counter n they asked me to leave the key in an envelop (they hv this drop key service for ppl who cant wait nw), and say will call me to discuss any issue i wan to bring up/or wat i wan to do.. went for lunch nearby n came back ~1.00pm b4 they called me.. so told the service guy i nd to change the iridium spark plugs, did additional the windshield, and oso asked for a free wheel cap (cos mine dented, and this i s 2nd time me asking FOC.. hehe...)

Car ready ~5PM,

and guess wat, the Iridium spark plugs free leh.. :yehyeh: :yehyeh: :yehyeh: TC din charge me for tt.. only charge me $22 for the windshield.. quiet2 leave the counter after checking the bill n listed there they did changed the iridium plugs, my front brake pads, and 1 of the oil.. and of cos got my free wheel cap.. btw, me on the NPMP since 40K, and today is my service B (100K).. so mayb the iridium sparkplug is included in the NPMP? I hv asked earlier by e-mail and TC did replied n told me it costs $40++ per plug, so x4 = $160++.. but i din told them i m on NPMP. Or do u tink they ll come bac to me n ask me to pay (say they forget to charge me)?  ::)

1 more comments to a bro n partner (if they r TLC members here, i heard their names, T.. and Y.. :bleh: :bleh:), who were sitting behind me at the 3rd floor lounge area today, u two v noisy leh.. with ur many calls to ur customers (dealing with rentals/properties).. hehe.. another fellow with his hp keeps on ringing (those typical old phone loud ring tone), aiyo, cant hv peaceful time in the lounge..

spark plugs and brake pads are included in the NPMP package already..will be changed if its required to change...so if it was changed then it means that it was needed to be changed...

Din really know tt the iridium spark plugs is included in the NPMP.. hehe..  :bleh: so maybe another consideration to sign the NPMP on 100K to 130K (as it will cover the 100K and 120K major servicing which is more critical, and sure a lot of tear n wear parts need to be changed). I am not sure if we can take the NPMP if we have stopped going to TC before that (tt means all the previous servicing hv been done outside).

Anyway, as mentioned, I hv signed on NPMP fr 40K - 70K, renew again for 80K to 110K, basically for the peace of mine. Mayb wil consider outside workshop after my 120K major servicing..

oh yeah, as for the tyres, hv decided to change mayb back to Michellin XM1 during my trip to KL nex wk, will b going to my fren's workshop, quoted me RM210 each/2.3 ~ S$91 (was quoted S$120 here), or anybody can get lower here? Might consider other tyres if he has other recommendation when i am there. Any member here wan to change in KL nex time, can let me know, can intro the tyre shop to u all. Since he is my good fren, can oso get free alignment (quoted S$70++ fr TC), so can save quite a lot there.. hehe.. mayb also 1 of the agenda (tyres/rims change) we can include for some members here if we hv a TLC trip up north next time, altho i know it is far away.. :)

May I know when you did your servicing, which engine oil did you use? Fasflo or your own? I been reading that most of the ppl here prefer Amsoil... wanted to heed more advice before I go for my service.

Since I m on the NPMP, hv to use the in-house Fastflo oil lor.. cos included in the package le.. i hv tried Shogun once, but cmi.. found engine lost power.. hv not try the others... when i m on Fastflo Fully Synthetic, can actually drove more than 10K (usually i ll service ~12K).

When u use those cheaper/or other brands, check also with members here how long usually it can last..

;D thanks for the reply. Will up to TC for servicing using other brand of E.O. Just emailed to ask how the cost will be like.

Does 40k servicing need to change Air Filter?
