Which TCM service centre offer best service?
« on: May 04, 2008, 12:14:37 AM »
Hi guys,

Going for my third (10k ) and final free servicing soon, which TCM do you suggest.

I went to Toa payoh for first two because more convenient.
however, i dont really think their servicing are top class, no follow up and basically when i mention to them problems, they didnt give the desired solution that i wanted. e.g. i want my brakes to be more sensitive, but what i see in the servicing report is "Done brake test - ok" , was quite disappointed.

heard that ubi one is good, anyone done theirs there before?

hi,

u can try BT.....but ur example quoted was quite insensitive.....what type of result u expected from "brake to be more sensitive" ?

Issit u feel when depress brake pedal, the pedal goes very low....and you want them to adjust the brake to be higher ?

sorry not trying to splash cold water but hard for SA to guess what u want them to do from such problem statement.........

i was thinking of if they could explain to me if its possible to adjust the brake pad as to depressing it will give more brake power. i did explain this to the SA and he say he will check it but report come out only the brake test result.  :(

I been using Toa Payoh servicing centre since 2001, so far I'm happy with their service. Friendly people in there, last round there hear that they are upgrading the place..

should not be an issue.

Ive checked with Alex when my buddy got his Sports Base last year.  He did mention that so long the claim is not in any relation to the parts invovled in warranty claim, then no problem.

for the case of the mirror, in the event that you have add the motor assembly, u cannot claim defects for mirror, bracket & maybe the door assembly (as u might need to wire in via tat area)

U might want to check with them again for confirmation

Update for new car owners

had a call with Ubi Service yday on my fused backlight, the SE was very enthu - explaining why it has spoilt and bulbs are not part of warranty. I asked if can come down to fix, he say crowded and may warrant a labour fee for the change etc .... as its crowded - i didnt go down.

subsequently this morning called Toa Payoh and asked the same question, the SE reply saying they dont charge labour but only the replacement bulb (which i think is very fair). And she ask me to quickly come down as the queue is short.
i drove down, true enough only waited 10 min before i was attended to. And when i check out my car, to my pleasant surprise, everything was FOC as the SE feels my car is relatively new.

Although its a few dollars, i find TPY way of handling this is pretty sweet and i am considering signing up the maintanence program with them. cheers

Went to TCM - Bukit Timah today.

I was told to do 30k and not 40k servicing since the previous owner had it done on 25k. My current mileage is 35K tho. So package A is what I gotten, plus I had my own engine oil as well. No issue about some warranty problem if using of own EO which been told in other thread.  :zipped:

I received the sms from TCM telling me that my car is ready for collection and even stated the price when I am at Bukit Pankang Plaza.  :w00t: (Had it sent in around 9.30am and done up at 11.48am)

I went back to TCM and head to lounge for enjoyment before I head to pay the money. Lounge is pretty ok and good. Nice coffee and snack.  :D

The total cost is $90.62 after deducting the in-house engine oil.

But I had $20 labour cost due to "Rotate & Balance Both Frt Tires During Maintenance Package A."

The rest, they renew A/cond compressor, shaft, idler pulley and bracket include vacuum system & top gas (All at No Charge due to Warranty)  ::) ::)

May I know what is Bracket, Pulley Idler and Shaft means?  :nonod:

Overall: Nice, good and helpful technician.

Sent my car to TCM TP 2 days ago to complain. SA said "It's like that". Did not even offer to conduct tests nor checks. IT'S LIKE THAT.
