Squeaking and hissing sound from Air-con compressor.

hihi, is it normal when u start ur engine, after which when u turn on ur aircon, u hear a squeaking n hissing sound from the compressor.. the sound is rather loud that u can hear from inside the car..

anyone encounter this or it's jus me?

ASk them to rectify when you go service your ride, had my assembly replaced when my ride was 6 months old.

yup... I check with auto clinic lokyang regarding this abt a year ago when I complain abt the noise.....

he show me a paper which reflect this problem happened with YOM2005 & initial batch of YOM 2006..... then he bring me to a car tats suppose to have the compressor change..... & its aint just hissing... its long pesistent hissing follow by roaring :D

My latio sounded worst than a SBS bus when that thingy was making noise.

hihi, indeed they told me is norm... but i still insist them to do a check on the squeaking instead of the hissing..

when i collect my car, the report said "TESTED OK" means nothing's wrong..

i told the other service advisor again and he immediately send to the workshop again to tighten the belt.. after which.. i shld say the squeaking sound is gone but still gotta live with the hissing sound cos it's the sound coming from the compressor when it pump the coolant gas out.

Conclusion - hissing sound shld be norm but not squeaking.  ;)

btw any bro here has totally no sound from the compressor?? pls share... thks!

I have this habit of switching off air-con and fan before switching off engine.  :smile:

Got mine changed when i asked them to check the noise from engine compartment, where I didnt know that time the sound was from my aircond compressor (during 1 of my service at TC Ubi). When i came back to collect my car, saw in the service report they have changed my aircond compressor, belts and few parts related to the aircond. Not sure how bad u all have.. but mayb stil can try to get them rectify the noise problem (indirectly force TC to change the compressor).. hehe.. btw, mine is YR2005 batch..

beh sai leh...... for me.... change evaporator nia.... cos the compressor problem for initial batch of latio has been resolved liao :bleh: :bleh:
