just used amsoil for my 10k servicing.. personally i think the engine is smoother than before.
also when you accelerate like until 3krpm, you can feel the stress on the engine not as jia lat as what it used to be.
quite comfortable with the oil :)

ps i have never used other oil yet but i will try a different oil during my 30k servicing

I think even castrol 0w40 (>$100) also lose to amsoil 5w30. The engine is confirm more quieter, pickup smoother and faster. Although I have not tried mobile1, but I guess amsoil still win.

Hi all, wow my first post in this forum. I've just gone thru my 3rd (10k) servicing. Bought Mobil Synt S 5w40 from Taiwan (NT185 only!!). So far, my FC with mineral oil has been pretty good about 14.5 and currently it's around 15km. Well I do drive 60-70% on e highway...

Nonetheless, I'm tempted to try Amsoil 5W30. Read the other threads about it and seems very good, but is it recommended to drop from a 5W40 to a 30? Thicker to thinner lube doesn't sound right to me.

I think ppl change to Amsoil is because of cheap and good. Of cos Mobile is much superior. LOL..

Just carry using until the day you go servicing lor. E.O. only, nvm la. Just endure lo. Save the $ for petrol better. I also wanna change to 30 but see no reason why koz just service only.  :bleh:

oh, what is E.O?

Really bo? Mobil is so superior meh? I can feel the different on the first few days after I chg the engine oil (fully syn), but few wks later, i don't feel the different leh, not very superb power ... !!! Haiz!

Now, most imptly is to save fuel consumption!!! If by chging to a btr engine oil can help us to save fuel, do it man! Let me know if any btr ways to save fuel!!

Thanks.

*bish*  E.O. = Engine Oil lor. I lazy to type full  :bleh:

I stick to Amsoil, cheap and good. FC not as bad, but I think I will gof or w30 then w20. Heh..

*Just pumped V-Power ytd and hoping to clock good FC tho because previously is 14.6l/km. Hoping V-Power will be better, if it turn worse, no surprise because some of the guys here gotten bad FC due to V-Power. Shall see mine.  :devil2:

No ppl here tried redline oil before? Just bought some 10W30 from MX and going to try on my 20K service.
Hope it is better. I am using Amsoil 5w30 now. Quite happy with it, but I thought it can be better with redline.

Have. Daily SGP usage no problem, but going up North may need slightly thicker viscosity EO.  :D

Let me make it simple, now on 20w/50 engine oil. FC very very bad and not much power.
Wednesday want to change to 5w/40 engine oil. OK understand now?

Cause 20w/50 is too thick already for the engine to move, so car now no power. When your car no power step more Acc mean more petrol gone.

Ok catch any ball already?

I almost wanted to do the same as you last week, but mechanic warned me against using 20w as its not suitable for our current ride. Think its an $$ lesson learnt for you. . .
