I just finish the first tank of oil when i collect my car. dunno what oil that is maybe some japan super grade oil but now I pump Esso 5000 i can feel the difference. The engine abit noisy and also my idling RPM is 800-1000 range as compared to previously 600-800 range. Is something wrong?

My mileage so far only ~300km nia.

Ya i bought from TCM reseller. Hmm I also feel my FC like dropping after the first "original" tank. So far heres what I get:

~60km before reaching the "Full" mark
~110km (50km from F) already halfway past the Full to 3/4 mark.

because it will be worst after running in. they will not be driving < 80kph most of the time.

Maybe after this tank, you try other brands loh.. there are some bros who commented that using Shell/Caltex engine quieter. I'm personally on Caltex 95. So far so good. BTW, need to run in before FC become stable..

Yea of course I am worried! Blardee fuel price rise like no tomorrow  :out:

I also read some conflicting posts in here some bros having worse FC after run-in, and some even lagi worse after switching to syn oil. So maybe some good tips might help.

Which petrol co giving better discount? I have the Citibank Esso card... but dunno about the other brands.

i using OCBO Fairprice plus Visa, 10% upfront and if monthly petrol bill exceed $300 get 3% rebate.

When running in that time be gentle with the car loh.. u flip the manual one of the pages there got the do's and don'ts.

Your idling RPM is it at gear P or gear D during stop? I had similar prob as well RPM abt 900 during gear D. Went back to TCM during servicing and ask them to tune it. Now at gear D abt 700. Believe during gear P RPM abit higher 800-1000 is normal... ;)

Well, it cannot be help if you need to own a car, you need to go thru this process first.

for my case, the FC gets better and better...when my car was running in (b4 1k servicing), FC only 11-12+km/l...after 1k
servicing, been getting 13+km/l most of the time...now after 5k servicing, FC never drop below 13km and can get 14km
at times...me not really light-footed..driving and travelling pattern is the same since day 1.

so dun worry...i believe FC is better after running-in and servicing.

thanks bros. what a sign of relief! i just checked.. my mileage so far is 430km, slightly below 1/4 tank mark. 37liters esso 5000. that works out to about 11+km/l. I think can hit about 500km with this tank, so 12+km/l. looking good.

but i realize one thing. near 2.8-3k rpm (no gear engage, aircon off) there is a rattling sound from the engine. is it normal?

also.. the esso fuel i really feel it is abit rough. dunno why. my previous (old) car esso was the best fuel... smooth, powerful and good FC. maybe new car different. sales guy told me try shell 98. he say the original tank i use when i first collect car is shell 98. maybe i try the next tank.

okay just finish my first full tank (esso 5000)... i got about 12.5km/l.. looks pretty ok same as wat most people say here.

then i pump esso 8000... somehow my mind playing trick on me or what.. but it is really smoother and quieter. quite an obvious difference.. i wonder why

and.... my idle rpm drop abit... maybe by 50-100rpm.

then, i realize when idling there is a tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik sound. very fast. about 6-8 times per second? is that normal? both type of fuel also produce this noise.

also, when off aircon and off radio, in P or N, rev near 2800-3000 rpm there is a rattling noise.. is that normal?
