Rattling sound at the driver's door
« on: June 24, 2008, 09:19:46 PM »
Dear all,

heard a slight rattling sound at the door this morning while driving. Quite irritating....haha just wondering what could cause this sound? Anyone experience this before? How to solve this problem ah? Cos i realise the sound might be due to the leather rubbing against the plastic at the door....hmmz....

Maybe it's your door visor not "stick" properly on the door, causing the sound when u travelled on the road.

I also got this problem when i first got the car, then go and apply some strong silicone glue underneath the 4 door visors, no sound already.

Hope this helps.

I think its the control panel on the driver's side where we control the windows one....i rest on my arm on the arm rest on the door then the sound disappears....is it possible to re-assemble that part again on our own? Or bring down to TCM? haha

Bro, I know what you mean now! I also hear this mild rattling sound often when driving and it disappears when i rest my elbow on the control panel. Well for me I juz ignore the sound, juz turn up the sound system  :bleh:...but advisable to go back TCM instead of DIY re-assemble...in case spoil sth...

Go TCM to bang table !

I've bang TCM table since my 3rd free servicing (10k km) for steering alignment prob, 20k km for low rev & 30k km for rattling sound at front dashboard during servicing among the similar prob that most lation bros face, next time will turn table liaoz!

Feedback so much to my SC that he changed to Kah Motors now. Then two weeks ago a new SC called me to introduced that he'll be my new SC...have yet to call him for new feedback... :devil2:

as long as the car is 'safe to drive' without serious problem, those minor things, just take it easy man!

i had the same rattling sound that comes and goes in the passenger door. super irritating. i took off the door and pressed all the plastic and then fixed back. all is well for the past 4 mths. no more sound. think it's the big sheet of plastic in our door that's vibrating

Halo Bro,

Keep on "banging" table at TC till the problem solves... :) Btw, in order that the SE knows wat is ur problem, u can request them to drive out your car around n listen to the sound (if they cant hear it at the service bay when ur car is running). Once they hear the sound, they shd b able to solve for u once n for all.. :) Remember is ur right to bang table, and of cos TC has to solve ur problem in order to retain the customers in the future.. :)
Simple...

Dear all,

I managed to solve the problem by stuffing strips of sponge in between the plastic and the metal door. Going to monitor for a few more days....hopefully can solve this issue... :yehyeh:

Don't think this is the correct solution.

Yeah, agree with Jazz. Think this is only a short-term solution for you now, should go back to TCM & feedback on the rattling sound & c how they respond. Better if you drive around with your SC for him to hear too.... ;)
