IF you guys are really piss with the sound, check your boot, there are 2 rods running across near the top with a piece of white plastic. When you open or close your boot, these 2 rods move and the plastic will twist causing the sound, go get some lithium grease and grease that place.

Hi detach8, same issue with me too...used to hear the 'kok kok' sound wheneer I close the boot fast or slightly harder...my advice is don't rush to close your boot, do it slowly & you also wont knock into your instrument... ;)

Also...If there's some squeaking noise, should put some oil at the hinge...

darrylker,

after i spray wd40, i can close it 'fast fast' aso no noise....!!!

WD40 has endless uses.

You can even spray it on your paintwork to remove those irritating tar spots. Just spray on, wait for a minute and wipe off.

Confirmed will not affect paintwork as I have tried it before.

It also can make bird faeces easier to remove.

Once I had dried bird faeces on my window and as it had dried up, it left  a stain. I sprayed WD40 on my windscreen, let it absorb for 1 minute and just wipe it off lightly. The stain went off like magic.

Hi Bro, I think this noise thingy was discussed before.  When I had that noise, I shifted the red plastic left/right till a spot where no more noise liao.  WD40 is easier.  Just spray is more straight forward.

hi humbercar

ya,iagree w u.
wd40 is much easier, spray and done. i dont want to shift the plastic left/right, coz the tcm guy put donno what 膏 (paste) to it when i complaint to them abt the noise since 1k servicing. it's so sticky. so, no touching, just spray will do (best).

regards.

Actually, even better solution is to put some grease. Can buy lithium grease from bicycle shops. Most of the WD40 evaporates leaving a thin film which will be gone very soon and you will need to relube. Grease on the other hand stays around for a while.

Problem with grease is  that it attracts unnecessary dirt and dust.

hi aerosignal

regarding what u said.
now i remember, during my 1k servicing at tcm (bt), i complaint abt that noise. then they apply something on the 'red' plastic. i thk is what u said "grease", i donno what's that anyway.

BUT, it does't help me to solve the problem.

AND, WD40 solve it with just ONE SPRAY of effort!!! Go for WD40.

iagree with clarence.

that thing that tcm used made the 'red plastic' (and the "rod"? correct spelling? that 2 sticks of bar) to become very 'sticky'! i hate it.
