Rattling Noise in car! Help!
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:49:21 PM »
Recently my car seems to have an irritating rattling noise when driving...
it sounds like a screw is loose and the washer is hitting against it....ort could be something hitting on something... if car is stationary the sound is not so obvious...

I tried to identify where its coming from but the sounds comes from everywhere lei....
if i sit on left side... sound seems to come from right side... and vice versa.... :nonod:

I read on an old thread that one of the few possible reasons could be aircon filter part or dash board loose? how to check aircon filter ah??

also another noise i notice is when I am going down gradual slope with slow braking...  "WOOONG WOOONG" sound llike the gear kena drag.....anyone experience this?

Check your compartments in the centre area, your sunglass holder, compartment above the radio or the gear shift area. from what youdescribe, the sound seems to be coming from the centre of the car. Do you have sunglass clip on any part of your car, those things makes noise even when you on the volume too loud on your ice. The woong thingy could be your brake disc, are they rusty? not likely to be wheel bearing if your ride less than 2 years old.

no lei.. i did checked on any possible item inside the car that might have caused the sound.. even repacked my boot to make sure its not from there...so I am pretty sure its not visible...
this rattling noise happened recently only...and all the time My stuff in car is in same position...

if its rear maybe its around boot area lo..
i know one member got this sound before.. then found out its actually the noise from the cover for boot.... hatchback got one detachable cover ma....

for my issue.. i really think something came loose thats why caused the rattling noise....
think tomorrow i call Tan Chong see can fix appt for them to check it...
hopefully no need pay.... if not i complain big time...  :glare:

If the sound only comes during braking or slowing down, its because of the rear drum brake need to service. I had the sound too and its very audible when i brake.. woong woong sound also and had it rectify by Tan Cheong. But if its purely rattling sound, I've lots of it in my cabin. I already heck care it liao cause even those merc, bmw will have some kinda sound as the car age.

It is best to bring your can back to Tan Chong to rectify if it is under warranty.

Hi wave,

long time no see your postings.

rattling noise is not something new to Latio.

the noise will come again after you solve it.

so, no ending one.

just ask TCM to solve it for you when you have time to drive to their service ctr.

TCM, waste time, no time slot is convenient for people who are working from Mon to Fri. Sick of it!!!

Regards.
sorry, i must agree because i don't know how to disagree. agreeeee only....

hi carmodz

thanks for knowing in advance that i will agree...
and, i also know that she will agree to come to mega meet and let all of us to sit in and hear.
but, sigh lah. so many people, how does her car let so many people sit in and hear?
so, i volunteer to offer myself to her first, i know wave for so long (since Sep07) and i am the only one kena ban by her from PM her :) so, we are like very long old friend.

so, i believe she will agreeto my proposal to help her to sit & listen to her noise problem one. i shld be the #1 in her list. u agree?

noise is too common to me liao. it's not new to me as i had came across so many times... After TCM solved for me, few hrs later the noise come again. So, I give up until now becoz i know it can't be solved at the end....
