Upgrading latio sedan stock alarm
« on: July 19, 2008, 11:38:10 PM »
THINKING of upgrading my car alarm (only wif imobiliser niah) to provide some other function

Currently i know that there are alot of discussion abt adding new alarm function + integrating them with new i-key

eh but the functions are not wat i am looking for ....

the main function i am looking for >>>IS there an alarm's function that can allow the car to lock itself once the driver left the car???

I heard that one of the crimestopper products - CS882, have this function...But can anyone confirm it ?? or has anyone use it b4??

got other products available???

Not from me.... You know what I have to say about the CS882. Only thing to add is I installed the CS2003DCIII before and it had the function. The CS 2003 DCIII is a full alarm imobiliser system. Oh, and I got the auto-lock function of the CS882 from the installation and operation manual.

Yeah, if meet some 'idiots' that feel offended with the message, they might not only back off but still 'decorate' the car with some nice lines!

I also have been asking for this kind of auto lock function sometime last year but not able to find...  :(

I have email one supplier of crimestopper alarms with some of my questions.. Have not call him to check out the price.. but i think it is a good start...

*Qn)will sound whenever there is a break in ONLY (i want to preserve my currently  setting>> no sound when arming or dis-arming my alarm)
    * Ans)possible but i need to check with my technical guy tomorrow.
    *

    * Qn) when i am in the car, will auto lock my car upon start up
    *  Ans) Crimestopper can do this (programmable function)
    *

*Qn) When i leave my car, will auto LOCk my car.
    * Ans) Crimestopper does not have this feature. Do note that this feature also consumes more battery as it needs to poll every few secs to check if you are near / far from the car.
    *

*QN)lastly, with all the add-ons, i want to use back my currently nissan Keyless entry car alarm device
    * Ans) Crimestopper has a model that can do this.

Wil update everyone with my progress.. maybe all of us can do together hehe

That sounds great if we can have a mass order.

If many people order, maybe the supplier can give you one set free, for your effort.

Am I right that our Latio does not have alarm. If there is break-in, no alarm will sound?

Don't know who you contacted for the CS882 info but it defintely has autolock function when you leave the car. It is state in the installation manual. It is not activated by default. Have to activate the function. CS alarms are very advanced has many customisable options. The CS882 is integrated into stock system so more complicated to set.

Here's the link to the CS882 manual.
Function is called passive arming. Function is default disabled and have to be enabled through configuration steps.
http://www.crimestopper.com/techweb/InstructionBooks/AddOn/cs-882oem_c_ins_ops.pdf

I installed my CS2003 myself on my 1988 Jeep Cherokee when I was in the U.S. Had to installed power locks also  because my model did not come with power locks.

This is why I had doubts about the local installer for CS..... Either they are not selling the CS882 OEM or they simply don't know their stuff.

I have all the tools to do the installation only difficulty is time....

I just think its dodgy that they say the CS882 got no auto-lock after leaving car function and try to give some lousy explanation about extra polling and battery consumption. The system does not track how far you are away from your car. Only if the engine is off, the door is closed and if the alarm is armed. Things that it does normally anyway.
