Congratulations on getting your Latio  ;D

Any brand of shampoo like Kit etc. will do its job.

For wax, any brands like Kit, Turtlewax will do. Liquid wax is easier to wipe off compared to paste wax.

To apply and wipe off teh wax, use 2 separate cloths. Those 'Good morning' towels are best. Cheap and good   And the 'pores' on the towel allows any small sand particles to be 'trapped' inside, and hence yuour paintwork will not be scratched.

There is no need to get branded waxing cloth, shampoo and wax. It's all a marketing hype.

and also get a good chamosis cloth to suck up all the water.. get those good one>> like $5 per piece ... will help you dry your car much faster ..

2+ mths ago , when i got my car, I boughtArmourall products as they are commonly available in shopping centre or petrol station..

but once i finished my current batch, i might switch to duragloss/autoglym products as i am thinking of getting those groomers to maintain my car once every 6-9 mths..  so getting some of their products for my weekly DIY use too. So that there will not be any compromise in protection effect (maybe its just my imagination) haha

Welcome to TLC bro...washing kit you can get it quite easily in hypermarket, e.g. Carrefour or Giant, the washing products will do a nice job...As for waxing stuff, it depends on your preference if wanna DIY or send for grooming service. For me I have a grooming service twice a year from Groomwerks (the one that our TCM advantage card provides for 40% discount), sometimes do have a bottle of wax to touch up minor door scratches... ;)

First question is are you the DIY type that will spend few hours doing your car every weekend?
If not, off the shelf products from hypermart is sufficient.

You might consider sending to groomer every few months and DIY between the interval.

hmm for me , i will wash my car myself once a week or every 2 week ... so i think DIY quite good leh... but i am now considering getting those professional groomer every few months and DIY between the interval.

If i use a groomer who use one pdt, when i DIY wash myself, is it better if i use back the same pdt that my groomer use??

Any good groomer??

i aso got no time to wash regularly.
ah neh is not for me because they use one piece of (normal) cloth for all the cars. spoil my car only.
no confident leh.

so the alternative is to pay grommer or car wash (manual) co. to do? at petrol stn (their cloths ??? again?)

so, best is to wash ourself? but in sg, difficult to wash lah.

damn tough!

regards.
sorry, i must agree because i don't know how to disagree. agreeeee only....

Whenever i'm in the area near VivoCity, i like to go to the SPC opposite VivoCity to do my car wash coz they hire students from MINDS. Great service & u get to support these students! If any of u happen to be nearby, why dun u give them a try?

any other/similar services by MINDS in AMK area?

I use a sponge like wax applicator (at Jap $2 shop in vivo city), easy to use, hand not so sticky and I think it help me to save some wax compare to the time I use cloth.

some say rainX not so good but I still use it. It makes a big different during heavy rain (small rain dun need to on wiper), visibility improve a lot. A must have for me.

One product to protect external plastic/rubber parts,( the black plastic on the roof, near wiper, under the door etc).

WD40.... itcy hand can spay spay here spay spay there. It also helps to remove tar, dried bird xxxx.

oh... one more thing to get for a person like me... a stool or some thing to reach every corner on the roof.
