Didn't Tan Chong or the external workshop change your air filter during your scheduled servicing?

How many kilometres has your air filter done?

Tan Chong will change for you... if u take up their 40K package (they claim air filter can last 40K)

Outside workshop, like autosaver will leave it for u to decide.... Autosaver will obmit some $$$ from the package price if u decide not to change

31K nia.... but already sibeh jialat.... working in tuas might have contributed to tat as well rah

FMz, i believe their profit margin is almost 100% for this.

no rah.... stockist (Fong tat) is selling @ $26.75.... so I dun think the saving of $2+ justify for my pertrol to drive to Serangoon

want to become wholeseller?
then we earn the margin? :)

since tcm is selling at S$29 to S$30 per unit.
we can sell S$25 per unit. 5 units at one go another pricing. more than 20 another pricing... :)

In between every 10K km servicing, does Tan Chong take out your air filter and use a high pressure air jet spray to give it a high pressure clean?

Most other authorised Japanese car distributor workshop do that.

40,000km interval to change air filter seems very prolonged.

I thought usually changed at 20,000km service interval.   :confused1:

Precisely.... the SA still claim that it can last til 40K when I took it out myself to show him during the 30K servicing :cool2: :glare:

my last car.... i lagi KS.....

change @ 10~12K interval....

$10/filter also contribute to the higher frequency of change for the last car.

It makes economic sense to regularly change your air filter, stretch to 20,000km at most, as a dirty air filter will lead to loss of pick up and power and higher fuel consumption as you need to depress your accelerator more to gain momentum.
