Auto Transmission Oil
« on: August 05, 2008, 10:00:19 AM »
Those of you who got the pre facelift Latio, 2007 YOM (Year of Manufacture) stock should know that your Latio was manufactured in 2007 and upon arrival in Singapore, it would have been parked in the warehouse for almost 1 year before being cleaned up and delivered to you.

What is of concern is the gearbox oil that would have been oxidised after being left idle and exposed to the elements for 1 year.

The gear box oil change is at 40,000km, according to Tan Chong servicing schedule,  which means your next gearbox oil change would be 2 to 3 years later, depending on your mileage.

Would driving for 2 to 3 years on old oxidised gearbox oil damage the 4A/T or CVT gearbox in the long run?

And I also noticed that my engine oil dip stick level was only at the 1/2 level upon car collection. BUt since oil change at 1,000km was very near, I just let it be.

mine reached 40K, was considering changing the transmission oil for my 4AT. If transmission oil not changed promptly, what are the notificable signs when driving?

Btw, able to recommend which brand better? how much latio requires?

i can recommend u to try fully synthetic ATF, those come from agent are mostly mineral base ATF, the difference is that fully synthetic ATF last much longer. wad brand?? i'm using redline...but this is juz for 4At..for CVT i got no knowledge bout it... :bleh:

Hi all got some question need to ask? My car is 2 years 2 mth already, and my milleage is about 34 k only, do I need to change my auto gearbox oil? Or wait until 40 K then change?

Cause I seldom drive this car now, maybe 1 week drive 1 time only.

Thanks
