Go back to TCM if the sound get more often...they replace a 'cable' for me but you have to wait as they need to order the part from Japan.

Relax lar....i think latio is a gd buy.....

I drove many different kind of cars when I was oversea for almost 4years....drove chevolet, megane, lancer, subaru impredza, mazda 3 and many others i dun really remember...as far as i can remember....M3 was the most hardy...(i mean real hardy...there were times we were lost in some place and drove on some dirt road that has rocks and potholes)...most stable and best driving experience....

I dun hear the tok tok sound when i turn my steering wheel while in reverse...but i know there is some tok tok...more like tick (usually 1 or 2 and then stop) when i turn my steering wheel in forward gear when i m at low speed....hope i did not mislead anyone...sorry...

I had my steering coupling or bearings changed. 6 months later, just before going for my next service, I felt and heard a faint familiar sound when i turned the steering wheel.
Went back for the service and complainted to Ubi TC. The svc guy went with me for a few rounds & luckily he also heard & felt the faint toktok sound.
I told him that it did not even last 6 months and my 3 years warranty will ROD in March 2009! He recommended that the steering shalf be changed. He claimed that it's a better designed replacement from Japan.
After the svc, they returned the old steering shalf in my car. Do get them to look into it asap.

I had changed the steering coupling for 3 times within 1 and a half year usage. Feel disappointed with their quality. After the 3 years warranty, I have to pay the replacement of the steering coupling when the noise come back again.

I think there is a 6 months warranty provided by Tan Chong for all repairs.

So if you have to change the steering coupling again on the 36th month (last month of 3 yr warranty), your replaced steering coupling would still be under warranty till the 42nd month.

Correct me if I am wrong.
