Hmm 16k only.. that's quite a big gap from the 18k quoted by my SE b4 booking.  Let's see how he talks himself out of this when I collect tomorrow.

The Japanese yen has appreciated, which is the reason for the high prices of Latio despite COE at a historical low of $5K.

$16K OMV is very low for Sports base.

I cannot understand why the OMV is getting lower.

I paid $53K for my pre facelift Latio basic sedan in mid 2007 and got a $15K COE with OMV at $14.6K (which is considered high for basic sedan despite the Yen being very much lower then).

Sport base and sedan A/T OMV is about $16K for those who booked ex-stock .
Factor in COE ( $6200) & other incidental charges, TCM margin slightly >$31xx
IMHO, this was a good bargain

My OMV for my Latio Sports Premium is $17k. My car falls on the ex-stock catagory. I received my car on 30/12/2008

It depends on whether urs a premium or basic. Believe 16K is for basic.

What I meant was that when I booked the car, I was told that the basic sport is around 18k which made it very attractive against the Vios which I was also considering at that time.  The OMV for the Vios was around 12k but was selling for a low 43k then.  Hence, I felt that the 4k diff I paid for the Latio is more than made up by the 6k difference in OMV.  Now that it's the same exact 4k diff, feel a bit cheated mah..

Latest update.  Just collected a photocopy of my electronic log card from my SE earlier so as to allow me to register for car parking first.  Was pleasantly surprised to find the OMV for my Ex-stock Latio Sport Base is at $18,399.  When I enquired why there is such disparity in OMV values between cars coming from the same batch, they couldn't provide an explanation either.  Guess it's my luck lor.  Huat ahhh...

I was told the same but i know can't be true cos...i believe  for one thing COE will be around $4 - $6K for the next few biddings.
And for OMV to be $18K , TCM will make less profit or no profit at all.
I checked the past 3 mths ave OMV before i book the car....

Booked in 2007 Mazda2 when COE was 5k & @$45K, then COE shot up, SE asked me to top up which i declined...after 4 biddings got refund :nonod:....
After that exp, i give TCM

Dun worry bro., u got a good car . Enjoy

Actually this is my 2nd ownership of the Latio, previously owned a Basic Sedan for 2 yrs plus which was sold off early last year when I upgraded.  Due to unexpected circumstances, my family needed a 2nd car which I promptly opted back for the Latio again as a first choice.  The thought of going for the Vios as an alternative was mostly driven by the thought of saving some moolas in this poor economic climate.  Anyway should be collecting it tomorrow morning after they have fixed up the number plates..  too bad I won't be driving it much anyway.  ::)

BTW, the latest Latio prices are as follows :-
Sedan Base                                -  $52,612
Sedan Premium                            - $56,112
Sport Base (w/ Free Nismo Kit)       -  $54,612
Sport Premium (w/ Free Nismo Kit)  -  $59,112

Leather and Rim are extra 1k for Sport Base.
Top up 1.5k for Immediate Reg.
COE Rebate Level set at 3k only.

dun worry....you got yourself a good ride...it is definitely more value for money than vios....in terms of workmanship, performance, space and reliability......i used to own a altis...find tat it is a crap and wasted money to buy it......if really wan to buy toyota....better go for JDI...better make and feel...but cost $$$ also...

Not surprising... the OMV of my ex-stock FL Latio Sports is 19.8K. :D

Congrats to all who got their ride with higher OMV.

Just wondering how fast one will get their deposit back after the 6 bids are over? Guess I'm heading for that way since I had not gotten a COE among those who booked for the ex-stock.  :yehyeh:

How many bids  do you have left, out of the 6 bids?

I am sure you will get your COE latest by the 6th bid.
