Soon Tat Battery Service
« on: January 07, 2009, 04:56:04 PM »
I wanted to the above workshop to check my battery if it was weak but the man told me that he could tell it is weak from the hmmmm sound it produced. Wonder if you would insist those workshop guy to use the proper equipment to test your battery? Also, do you bring back the old battery (wonder how the workshop will dispose of these old batteries?).

Has anyone tried this workshop before? It is located a few steps away from the Autosaver workshop at Toh Guan.
Its Hyundai battery for my LATIO costs $110. is this price reasonable? ::)

batt is one thing which you won;t want to change it when it's unservicable.

Off track a bit...

Is maintenance free (MF) battery really maintenance free? what is it suppose to mean? No need top up battery water? Someone showed me: MF battery also must unscrew to reveal an opening, from there you can check the battery level and have to top up if necessary.

Is it really worth getting a MF battery then?

Using an MF now .. Amaron brand. No need to top up water as MF is fully sealed. If need to top up water is normal type.

As for MF.. typical should be more expensive and last not as long as those required regular top-up.

:)
Car Changed .. No more Latio.....

to answer u on 2nd Qn, how they dispose the old batt? For me, change in M'sia (at cousin workshop) @ batt aged ~2yrs+, MF, Cost RM$200 (or ~S$83, understand from him it's the same price he get from supplier) and as for old batt, understand that he still can sell at RM$20 ~ 30 each.

When you say the MF battery is fully sealed, what does that mean? I can still unscrew, reveal the opening and top up battery water. Yes, there is battery water inside a MF battery!
