how long is your 1k servicing?
« on: January 28, 2009, 04:44:35 PM »
hihi, just curious how long does your 1k servicing take?

when i sent my car to TCM for 1k servicing...it took them the whole day. sent in at 830am, but only til 5+ then is ready for collection. even though washing and polishing is done as well..but i dun believe it will take 1 whole day to do it.

initially i even highlight to the SA that i need the car urgently at 3 to visit my client, n he happily tell mi that he will try, if not will be by 4pm. after i reach there, when i keep asking them regarding the status but they give mi a short reply, "under QA checking" . in the end, i waited til 5+ to collect my car.

i check w my frz n he told me that the most is around 1hr for 1k servicing. n probably addition 1.5hr for 5k servicing.

im sending my car to TCM for my 5k servicing soon...not sure whether how long does u guys experience for the waiting.

From what you have mentioned, they should not take that long for a 1k servicing. The real job only take them less than 30mins, excluding washing, to complete.

Someone must have misplaced your job sheet and end up 'completing' late in the end. If they hand back the to you at 11am since you checked in at 8:30am, it is still acceptable though.

Next time if such thing happens, call up or go look for the SE who took in your car personally to breath down his neck. I hope that SE you mentioned is not 'Rosland'.

Kenny,

I experienced the same scenario as you and waited 8+ hours before my car was ready for collection during my 1000km oil change.

I sent mine to Bt Timah branch.

Looks like Tan Chong is encountering some problems lately with after sales service. Their service centres seem to be unable to cope with the high volume of cars.

From the previous posting of yours, I noticed that you actually went through the 'key-drop' service. This means that you drove in early before 8am and 'drop' your key at the drop-off box accompanied with a form of your particulars. This means that you just simply leave the key and car for them without going through the queuing system where the SE will attend to you at your car. This service allows them to 'take their time' to do up your car and you come pick it up at the end of the day, which usually the case. Not sure if this was the case for what you encountered.

I did mine this morning at Lokyang - took 2 hours including the replacement of the front solar film (bubbles and scratches on the original installation).  Overall, the service is alright but I am not impressed by their car washing - I noticed a stain before sending in and the stain remains after the wash ... I think they have only washed the engine area but strange to find the rear door seam wet ... I will check with the customer service rep on their car wash scope at the 5K servicing.

Very special, with swirl marks included for FREE!

With so many cars to wash daily, they just go through the process just for the sake of doing so, with no pride in their work, using the same sponge for the top and bottom part of the car.

It is advisable to request that your car not be washed after servicing if you do not want any swirl marks.

For me, I sent in mine at 1 pm and got it back at 5 plus
Service is really slow compared to Borneo. They really need to do something about it.
Do they have express service like Borneo Motor?

You may like to take a closer look under bright light like those at petrol stations.
