Don't think anyone could really advise you except yourself. It's your money and you do what you feels like. (Sorry. Not trying to be mean here..) The only thing to take note is that you have to try to maintain the overall rolling circumference of the wheel if you upsize your size, your wheel's weight will definitely be heavier than the stock. Also, the rolling resistance will increase too, contributing to a higher fuel consumption. How much higher? That will have to depends on the style of your driving and type of route you taking.

Nothing wrong with asking. That's what the forum is for. (To share knowledge) If your question is s*****, you'll most be flamed by the rest by now.  :smile:  For myself, I also asked a lot in order to know all these. So now my turn to pass on the knowledge.

For the tire pressure, it's best you invest in a pressure gauge with those analogue meter. (not those digital type if possible) Reason is that most of the petrol kiosk pump are not accurate.

For stock tires : Rear -> 30bar (210kpa)   Front -> 33bar (230kpa)  [When cold - travelled less than 5km]
                       Rear -> 31bar (220kpa)   Front -> 34bar (240kpa)  [When warm/hot - travelled more than 5km]

Thank you... understand what you meant...by the way can i also ask if i wanna pump air into the present tires what pressure should i set on the pump?

To me, for our latio the most optimized rim size is 16" anything above is luxury sizing.

poh heng 16" rim w/tyre around $980 if ur rims n tyres are still newly then can trade around $500 and u juz need top up $480. if wait longer ur wear n tear then the price will drop. when u go down juz tell justin ur car only a few days old he will take a look then give u a price..

Was wondering if 195/55R16 a common size in Singapore. Was surprise to note that for FL, its +1 to 16". But pre FL it only +1 to 15" :confused1:

Stock 15" rims on stock tyres is still best for overall ride comfort.

Do expect a harsher ride and higher fuel consumption on broader tyres on 16" or 17" rims, as well as faster wear to your shocks.

Of course you get a more stable ride at high speeds and for fast cornering but these will put you in breach of the law.

Very limited choices available for 195/55R16.

A serious consideration when upgrading to broader tyres is the replacement cost.

Thanks, think will stick to 195/60R15 then will save not only on rims but also on FC and actual tyre cost as 15' still cheaper than 16" I hope

Taking the Yokohama AC 01 as an example, 195/60R15 is 20% cheaper than 195/55R16.

With the current recession expected to be the worst since S'pore's independence, it makes sense to be prudent.
