To sign up NPMP or not?
« on: March 09, 2009, 02:45:40 PM »
Hello,

My latio 4AT is OPC...

My car is due for 20000k servicing... Is it worth to sign up NPMP?
I can hardly clocked 10000km in 6 months...

The price for service package B is $349 excluding labour or material charge.

Any advise?

Thank you very much.

personal advise is not worth it to sign npmp as u hardly clock 10000km in 6 mths. u may try outside workshops, charges will be cheaper even if they change parts.

will it affect the 3 years warranty given by TC if we go to external party for servicing? Any advise?

The price of $349 is inclusive of labor, engine oil and filter.
Just stick to TCM for major servicing and they will honor warranty claim.

You can sign up NPMP anytime in future.  That's my opinion

Thank you all for your advise.

I have a few more questions.

1. When should we send our car for servicing? when we hit the required mileage or when time is due?

2. At 20000k servicing, what engine oil should I change to? I am thinking of bringing in my own engine oil.

Thank you.

If you use synthetic oil, service every 10,000km or 6 months, whichever comes first.  For mineral oil, every 5,000km or 3 months whichever comes first.

I usually bring own oil as well since we have more choices off the shelf.  I only use synthetic

Come to think of it.... NPMP more suitable for those CVT as the servicing includes refresh of CVT unlike 4AT which is not included. Think will not sign up cos wanna use own oil and normal servicing can rebate.

For low mileage cars like yours, NPMP is not worth it.

Try these Nissan Specialists which are cheaper than Tan Chong's prices
