i think the accident happen in rest area or toll area, hard to find a lamp post along NSHW where you can ramp it without hitting the barrier.

No la he was having a Kopi at NSHW rest exit and park his car. He dosen't aware his car kana bang until he come out. He ask around and told by people there a lorry bang and ran away liao..Really damn suai..

As for the fuel efficiency, don't forget it running all the way non stop except lunch, that's why it use little fuel to cover the whole 540km journey.I think not only latio, all other 1.6 and below car also can make it wan, just plus minus abit..For me ,i only clock 25.22km/l

From the damages on his car, it looks most likely his car is hitting against a pole type object...

Some Bro drive NSHW also never ever achieve close to 20km/l

If you drive at 80km/h non-stop I bet you can get >24km/l.

Of course, take out luggage, and only ferry 2 pple.

Father & son team
I think the slow & steady speed really helped them, they were 2nd last to arrive at final check point.

So the winner ride a Sport or Sedan. ?? Premium or basic

cheers

for CVT, keep the rpm constant or speed constant for better FC?

I think i should install the "Auto Cruise Control" and DVD Player to my ride... so, I set the speed to 80km/h and watch my show on the DVD player.

dont think so. when you go up hill, it will ram the engine to maintain speed then when go down hill, it use engine brake to reduce the speed to 80km/h. imo a bit waste of petrol.

Congrats to all who to part in the challenge...
my best is about 14.5km/l...
i think any better than that....we'll have to sacrifice our car comforts like aircon...speed..etc...

Yes, can those who participate please share the secret fuel saving tips? I saw from the program sheet that there was a briefing from an expert.

E.g. maybe something like:

- At what speeds would A/C windows up be better than no A/C windows down 2-inches?
- Ideal rate of acceleration for CVT versus 4AT
- Ideal steady state speed to minimise pumping loses and wind resistance
- Any other secret tricks that can nudge the Latio ECU/TCM into a super efficient
  mode of operation...
- How to climb and descend hills most efficiently
- Can we request TCM to tune our engines for max efficiency and forget about
power? Sounds silly, but I think some of us prefer this.

Thanks.
