20K @ riverview auto
« on: September 16, 2009, 09:41:10 PM »
went today to do my 20K service.

breakdown of the cost:

Ecolight 5W30 4L         $80
Oil filter                      $11

Labour charge              $36
Rotate and balance tyre $15

Total with GST            $151.94

My feedback was that they do not really like people to bring their own engine oil. Even giving me example that if u bring your own ingredients to the hawker centre, the hawker also won't like :out:

Did not give me back any remaining EO as i thought latio only used 3L and a bit more only.

The technician drove my car into the workshop in dirty clothes and dirty hands unlike in tan chong. Theres is no protective cover for seat also when they drive. :crycry:

They do have their own lounge but couldn't fit more than 3 people otherwise everyone too close with each other.

The only comfort from going there it is cheap compared going to tan chong.

Any bro here recommend any workshop for my next 30K? Staying at woodlands

The only time that I went to them was about 4 years ago for my previous car. They did hard selling of the air filter, but I stood firm didn't buy from them as mine was relatively clean and told them to air blow my stock.

It says there perform 20K oil service with safety checks. It includes engine, transimission, steering system, brake system, chasis and body and electrical.

There is a list of what they check like TC, but they found nothing wrong.

Yes, I agreed. But Riverview allows you to watch them work, so they will not 'tick' thoes boxes that they did not perform. They charged $36 for the labour on changing oil and filter, think it is exp.

I did my 50k servicing at Riverview too. Find that they're ok but a bit on the pricey side for outside workshop. Bringing own oil will incur a $10 surcharge. FYI they're pro toyota workshop tats y most of the rides there are Toyota. What I dun like is the long waiting time. I send my car in at 9am and is only ready by 2pm for just minor servicing.

I went to Autosaver for 70K service in late July 09. When I reached there at 2pm, I was the 2nd car there and guess what? 4 persons were servicing my car!
The young PRC lady even stands beside me for 20 mins & chit chat.
I realised that more than 50% of the staff are frpm PRC.
Everything done up within 1 hr. This is the fastest timing for servicing compared to TC timing of an average 4 hrs for simple normal servicing.
I will be going to Autosaver for normal service and to TC for major servicing. Even TC pple also tells me that its more economical to do that.

Hi Samuel,

Hope you don't mind, I think its its better to flush and change yr brake fluid and service your brake as well.

Thanks and have a good day.
