I try one tank of Shell 98, driving is smooth and FC not much different comepare to Esso95. Now on Esso92 + petrol additive.

can try ECU reset (search the forum) to force the ECU adapt to new petrol.

IIRC the adv said you can save 1L of petrol for one whole tank. Say our tank 45L, that's 2.2% saving. Travel 500km then get extra 10km only. Not much advantage to me.

Hmm.. let said you need one tank per week... you will need about 4 tanks per week and about 52 tanks per year

1 tank you save 10km
4 tank you save 40km
52 tanks you save 520km

hmm..the best you get is another free tank to travel another 500km per year. Not much advantage to me too.

hmm.. i don't agree we take train will save petrol + car park fees. :glare:

If you take train, the best you can save on petrol only... as you still need to paid car park fees for HDB (unless you living in Condo ). Some more, if ignore the car installment, you still need to paid Roadtax and Insurance for your car. Those is already paid.  :D

For me, new Shell fuelsave doesn't save fuel on my latio. So does RON95 and RON92 petrol. :zipped:

bakoh: that's because you drive too fast. i get 2km/l more than yours. :devil2:

latioboy91: from your statement, i think they put wrongly on the adv. I think they forgot to put the minus sign in front of the 2.2%

nymin9: hmm..i don't dare to use RON95 on my latio. All my friend got bad comments on RON95 petrol (although they declare it can save petrol but we believe it will damage your engine's block in time). If you use RON95 (or below) and feel your car "shaking" during idle, your engine is not suitable to use RON95. Case similar like you use normal engine oil or fully sync engine oil. Which one you think better for your car?  :zipped:

bakoh: hmm...she is "red queen of crazy" ;D. Just to clarify, i am slow driver. :bleh:

I don't think malaysia's petrol is poor quality. If not wrong, petrol is grade based on RON(Research Octane Rating) not location. Even Shell V-Power got different range of RON in different country (as I know V-Power has grade RON107 in HK but RON95 in the Netherlands).

Based on my survey among my malaysian friends, not much Malaysian will try Esso or Caltex in Malaysia. Shell is best among their choice (but not recently with their new launch of FuelSave petrol) following by Petronas.

Maybe start next year... we might not get cheap petrol from Malaysia. They try to adopt some new RULES to control their petrol price. :crying:

hi...

i encounter that "car "shaking" during idle" issue... TCM reset ECU n do some cleaning... so it is ok now, still monitoring...
i tot itz perfectly ok for latio to usr RON95 without any side effects to the engine?
