on an earlier incident, i left my ikey in the booth without realising it... thinking the ikey is in my pocket. i pushed the key button on the booth and it locked readily.... however, upon waling away, i realised i did not have the ikey in my pocket... i went back to my car and tried to open it by pushing the button but to no avail...finally called tan chong and they said they cannot do anything... in the end, i took a cab to my house to retrieve my spare keys and manually opened it... moral of story - keep your spare keys at home!!!

technically it will not lock in this case if you press the black button on the boot while ur ikey is inside the boot....same case as if ikey is inside car, by pressing black button on oustide door handle, it will beep beep beep and not able to lock....

could your case be something else?

yes, technically the car cannot be locked when the ikey is inside the car...but it happended on this rare incident where i left my ikey in the boot... thats why i called tan chong to enquire but they couldnt assist me and advise me to use my spare key to open it... funny.....

can you re-simulate again? cos i suspect ur ikey might be very near to boot edge...so the sensor might have detect as outside rather than inside...

You can use a screw to open up your external signal light casing or rear lamps and hide your spare key inside and screw back the light casing. No one will know. That's what I do.

BTW if someone were to rear end you good luck to your spare key too.

having your ikey securely stored in a home environment is still a wiser choice

anyone ? ???

here is what I know of

1) If you stopped your engine, get out of the car and do nothing, the Car will not lock

2) if you unlock your car from a locked state, and do nothing, it will auto lock

3) if you unlock your car from a locked state, and start opening any door or bonnet, it WILL NOT auto lock

It do happened to me...while i left the ikey inside the car..then i locked the car by pushing the black button on the car's door... luckily i am at home that time..i just go and take my spare key and open the car door. one things can sure, our ikey system is secure enough. :D

If any bro/sis wanna to try this..just keep your car windows open..then put your ikey inside the car...and then press the lock button on the car door.  :D

No, no more to worry that my door won't locked. It lock automatically after 1-2 mins of idle.

To set the record straight, if your i key is inside your car or boot, your doors will NEVER lock.

If it still locks, there is a malfunction.

i second that. Cos i have numerous occassions left my ikey in the car after washing & when tried to lock after that, it only goes beep beep beep & no locking.

ur ikey sensor is located juz behind the rear view mirror, so i tink either ur ikey batt is weak or either ur sensor wanna up lorry oledi.. not possible dat u can lock ur car even if u hide ikey inside spare tyre compartment.
