Title: Second hand Latio servicing
Post by: louisxii on May 02, 2012, 01:20:24 PM
Hi all, I just got my 08 Latio sedan last week. The mileage is 48k and was told by dealer ex-owner just finish major sevicing at TC @45k mileage. So far everything ok quite comfy inside and quiet :) Before I booked the car had called TC to check last servicing record and was told last servicing at 45k which is tally with dealer's claim but TC refused to disclose whether it was a major or normal servicing.

Do I need to send to car back for servicing again? or is there anyway to know major servicing is really done?

Thanks:)

my 40k major servicing record with TCM as below,

ROTATE AND BALANCE BOTH FRONT WHEELS
-   CARRY OUT SIDE SLIP CHECK
-   **CARRY OUT 40,000KM SERVICE (UNDER NPMP PROGRAM) USE FASFLO 100% SYNTHETIC OIL
-   RENEW BOTH FRONT BRAKE PAD
-   RENEW BOTH REAR BRAKE PAD OR SHOES & ADJUST HANDBRAKE
-   RENEW ALL BELTING

so you can bring to your regular mechanic and ask them check your brakes and belts for piece of mind, maybe also do change of transmission oil to be on the safe side.
else, i think the major and minor servicing are about the same.

Thanks man...so there is no way i can know whether major servicing is done. Will consider change the transmission oil.

Another question Latio use timing belt or chain?

Open yr bonnet, if yrs is CVT, there shd be a blue sticker on the right side telling you to use NS2 CVT oil. Not sure abt 4AT though.

Hi Kelvin thanks for explanation. Ya i did feel the gear change when picking up so comfirm is 4AT.

My fc shown is around 8-9L/100km in average. I guess this is normal for Latio right...Driving car is an expensive experience  :scared:

Mine is about 11.5km/L for a 5 yr old latio sports.... So i guess yours is slightly better @ 11.7km/L

Dear Bro,

Yesterday my latio had a flat tyre on the rear left. Didnt know and hit the bumper/exhuast to the curb while parking.

After changing the tyre (spare), the exhuast (left rear) of car giving strange sound like driving a pick-up or a 10 footer lorry. Slight rumbling during idling and roar like a broken exhuast lorry when step on accelerator. Engine and movement are no issued.

Soon due for servicing so might as well do it now today later. Any workshop good for recommending? I just took over from my cousin and no more on TCM. Feb 2012 gone to my usual workshop (Harmony) but they seem not that familiar with Latio. i used to patronise them cos I used to drive a Kia.

Urgently need recommendation for a good, reliable and affordable workshop. IMHO, I have been to TCA before 2012 (my cousin still have 1 more NPMP left for me) its sucks big time.

Yup i 2nd dat statement, not tryin to promote or help kelvin to gain free publicity but i've been to numerous wkshops for service/repairs & nothin beats our Dr Latio expertise towards their car knowledge & repair skills.
U tell me which wkshop in sillypore dat u visit will go dat extra mile to check for u items dat u did not even request for them to do it, but they will do it on their own initiative & goodwill.

I'm not related to them in any way or watsoever, i'm juz a satisfied customer of their wkshop. Above statement is juz purely based on my personal experience wif them.
Haha Boss kelvin if u happen to read tis post, wonder if its possible to create a customer waitin lounge area for us? Heez  :bleh

I support pizzaboy. After my servicing/repair with kelvin on Monday. They did a very thorough job although unable to repair my basted exhuast collar which they had order for me to do again on coming thurs.

They go to extreme meticulous checks of everything and every single light bulb to window wipers which I never even order at all.

Very good service at afforbable price.

I all along knew something wrong with my CVT gear. In the Jan 2012, I gone to Autosaver for a check on my CVT as it jerk when put to reverse. They check and said its the engine mounting. Cost me $500+ to do the mount and nvr solve the reverse jerk problems BUT they came out with another problems saying it might be both front shock loosening. Another 600-800 for repair. They are crap!!! Thats it, BS autosaver! Good luck to you.

At kelvin, he told me: bro, something wrong with your CVT. Unable to repair until its totally spoil then get a refurbish one. This explanation: I totally agree!  but sad thou.
