Thanks to 1 of the sponsor workshop...

my car is fixed now without the need for overhaul

some coolant hoses leaking behind engine block which cause engine to run hot which explains the fluid losses

changed cvt oil as well and now car is as good as can be.....

going to continue to monitor

Thanks YS

HI,

I did mine at autoaid due to engine consume engine oil and caused a lot of foul plugs... had to top up engine oil every weekend about to give up and scrap untIL I found this... open by ex-tcm general Manager and mechanics all from tcm as well....paid around 2k inclusive of gst. I was quoted by another workshop for a min 5k... Till now monitorin for 3 months and no more leaking.....

Hi,

Is topping up engine oil a common problem for Nissan Latio.
My car is almost up for scrap, but I am thinking of extending the CEO for another 5 years due to the nature of my Job. I have been topping up the engine oil every 3 weeks for the last one year and did not thing anything about it (ignorance is not bliss I guess).
Those of you who have the same problem, did the fix by your workshop work ?
Only the engine oil needs topping up, the coolant water is fine.

Any advice?

Thank you,
Timothy

Hi Timothy. its quite amazing to me u can endure topping up engine oil every 3 weeks for the past 1 year.  What is your mileage of the car?

hi bros, can state what is your mileage when engine starts to 'eat' engine oil at a faster than normal rate? TIA.

Your case is almost like mine... The topping up of the engine oil begins once/month... Then frequency becomes 3 times per month followed by weekly... When the frequency becomes higher. I started having misfiring issues. My problem is due to the gasket seal in the engine is wear and tear which resulted the EO to get into the plugs.  Did the overhaul for the engine and problem is solved. No more EO disappearing now(has been about 8 months after overhaul).

The mileage that first started is only abt 100k. This really depends on the condition and luck.. Really unlucky that it came so fast.
