Shucks! Hit my front right bumper against a post last night:(. Bumper dented but no crack, no unusual/funny sound while driving.
Think I only need to knock back the bumper and respray.

Any kind souls with good and reasonably priced workshop to recommend? Kum siah!

Chio, have you asked Yew? That time my rear bumper kena dented as bad as yours. Went to one of his reocmmended workshop Sin Ming. Workmanship quite Ok. But closer look and scruntize very hard can tell got difference.  I think he can recommend several workshop..

The other time my door scratched quite deeply with dent. Went to Sze Kang at AMK Autopoint (search the Commercial forum here) . The paint work there is much better, can't tell any difference. But don't now if they do bumper repair.

I've tried this workshop for my back bumper's dent caused by hit and run. The workmanship is good even till now after 2 years. It caused me less than $200 for the knock back and spray paint. All done within one day.

Hi think your dent is too deep in, my bumper is dented in last time due to careless driving. But after that I park under the hot sun, to my surprise the dent pop out by itself.

So I only bought so touch up paint and paint back.

This is quite minor, with car body not affected.

If you can live with it, can consider leaving it as it is and save on the repair costs.

Second that.....unless there is an issue with rust....

For me, it is a magor problem as the dent is very large and very unsighty. As only for a couple of hundreds, I will definitely repair it. Of course, this is not urgent, can still find time to look for a cheap and good workshop.

BTW, how you got this problem before. Do you repair it or leave it?

I had one ugly dent right at the bottom center of my front bumper (courtsey of my dad), my front left bumper a bit dislodge from the mounting (due to some idiot reversing into my car and then claim tat it is my fault and the verdict of the insurance is 50-50 payment. Insurance assessment for repair is S$1000 to repair it)....I didn't fixed it...cos the last time i asked is something like $400...didn't find it worth while...

Some months ago, due to my own mistake, i ramped my left hind door onto a pole...caused a bad dent...if left untreated, got rust issue...so I fixed it...cost me abt S$1000 including repair + spray paint + unlimited car wash + some car polish package...was the best deal I could find at that time..... ;)

How many doors did you fixed?  My rear right door was deeply scratched by a reversing lorry with a dent. Knocking and respraying the door only $120.

While I was driving an old car years ago, I was in the same situation as you. I DIY by using a hair drier to heat up the bumper to soften it, and then inserted my other hand behind the bumper from below and "pushed" it back to shape.

Not a perfect job but it was an old car anyway, so it did not bother me.

So you didn't claim you own insurance ? You dun find it more worth to claim ? Unless you got 50% NCD.

What is your car no ? Better siam far far, so much injuries  :devil2:

It is not worth to make an insurance claim for such minor repairs that would cost approximately $200, even if your NCD is 0%.

Think about the excess (usually minimum $500) that you would have to pay. Think about the higher premiums when you renew your insurance.

And if you tell the workshop that you are making an insurance claim, they would mark up the price.

Workshops have 2 different price lists :

1 for insurance claims which is inflated pricing
1 for individual private settlement by car owner which is always cheaper.

Bumper are make of fiberglass or plastic can easily push back .i managed to push out my dumper dent. why dont you try to push out the dent from behind. they should easily pop back too shape if it is not a serious knock. give a try after all no harm doing it.

Thanks all for the response. I suddenly remembered the workshop at Bukit Merah Lane where I used to send my ex Toyota Corona to many years ago. So I sent my car there at 11.00am this morning. I called the boss at 2.00pm and was told that the repair has been done. So I went down to collect. When I asked how much I had to pay him, I literally got a 'shock' when he said $30. Wa, so cheap ar! He told me that they had tried to polished off all the paint marks and scratches the best they could. Of course there are still many fine scratch marks left but they are not too noticeable so no need to respray. I was very satisfied with the repair and even more so with the price. $30 nia leh, where to find?! I was mentally prepared to pay $100~$200 for my silly mistake of banging into the metal pole somemore. Wa, happy like F***! :yehyeh:

That is a honest workshop. They dun con you that a respray is needed. Of course it is up to individual to have certain expectation of the work.

Guys, you can consider going to Kian Teong Motor at Blk 14 Sin Ming Estate Sector B #01-23. Workmanship is quite good and best of all, they use original Nissan paint (they do so for Nissan and Toyota) so colour matching is as good as it gets. Speak to James at 97399980, he is a nice friendly uncle.
