Hi,
I have a Nissan Latio CVT (2006), does anybody know how far the car can go once the 'fuel empty' light comes on? i.e. what is the size of the reserve fuel tank? my FC is now 14km/litre.
- Thanks

our fuel tank total capacity is 45l, normally will light up around 37l if i am not wrong. I ever travel when fuel light up from sengkang to outram, then back to sengkang then bukit batok before topping up around 40l, no issue
-
- Thanks for the info, with 10 liters I can travel quite far , thought it was two liters or something.
Just remembered that my car is a the 2007 version but guess that doesn't make much difference.

Bro,
Our tank is 55 L come with 5L of reserve.
So far i never try to run till red light.
Worry may out of petrol half way and cant find esso station.
Cos on company fleet card.
Also understand that.
Tank with full tanks have smaller surface for evaperation.
So it may help in our FC too.

Aiyah,
45+10+5(evaporation) = 55+5+0(evaporation)
same lah. Just pump when no petrol. Pay money and drive.

my typo, its 37l when light up, have edited my reply. i think 5 to 8 litres of reserve fuel bah.

u are just 200ml away from making your car a monopoly car.
why?
You push it to the pump station.
-
I thot you push it past GO, and collect $200? :devil2:
-
Does the yellow warning light go red when tank very empty???
I always ignore the yellow light. Always end up driving till way past E mark....heheh
Somehow I feel the car becomes more responsive as you near tank empty. Wonder if the combustion is programmed to go leaner towards the end...Any bro had this experience?

if your car stalls along LCK, u'll pay $200 to get someone to make your car go. LOL :D

got Red light meh??? never try b4.. anyone to verify this ?? haha
I think car is more responsive >> becos of the lighter weight. With 40litre of fuel almost gone, the car is like 60kg less leh

No la, 40litre of fuel is about 30kg only. The difference in engine combustion is quite obvious once the yellow light comes on. Faster acceleration from rest but when you hit above 80kph, loss of power...classic case of burning leaner...

want to bring this topic up again.how many types of low fuel indicators are there in a latio?so far i have only driven to amber light,is there going to be a red light to show really low fuel?
-
I only seen amber. Have driven for about 50km after amber light no problem. Needle is below the Empty mark.

I played & tested 1 time to see how far the car will go on reserve and if there is any other warning if there is no petrol.
My car was on low petrol and just then the ORANGE RESERVE light came on. I drove into a petrol station and took out an empty 5 LITRES COOKING OIL BOTTLE (which I already washed and kept for standby - was supposed to throw the bottle away , but decided to keep it first.). Purchased 5 litres of petrol and kept it tightly closed soe even if the bottle was to fall over, the petrol will not leak out.
I went into the petrol station and pumped 5 litres in the bottle and felt like a hero. :yehyeh: So decided to play around. With the orange light on, drove on and on and got until about 80 litres (at speed of 80 Kmh), until the car started to jerk and jerk and finally DIED...LOL.... was laughing out a lot (lucky nobody with me). People driving around me were looking at me and thought I was really siow :out: or something. Took out the bottle & slowly poured the petrol in & went back to pump up full tank - FULL FULL. not full only. I always tell the pump attendants to overflow.. they will know.
Anyway, to make things short, 80 kilometres is the MAX you get when the ORANGE light comes on and NO RED LIGHT OR ANY OTHER WARNING.
So that is it.
BTW, my FC is about 10KM/L. no complaints lah but the car is too good to give up.
-
I took my hat off for you doing this experience. 80km is almost from my house to Changi airport and back. Lol.
-
Hah hah hah.. really lah
Had a good laugh when that happened. The car was jerking and jerking and finally it died...
I drove the car to the shoulder of the road came out and sat on the floor and was laughing like crazy... :out:
Finally when I had finished laughing & was able to control myself, then I took out the 5 litre bottle of petrol and poured it into the car & drove back tot he petrol station.
Confirmed & tested. BUT TO EACH & EVERY OTHER PERSON, DON'T TAKE A CHANCE BUT BEST TO TOP UP BEFORE YOU RUN OUT OF PETROL AND YORU CAR STALLS.
Cheers.
