Jerky acceleration - Latio
« on: August 27, 2013, 11:20:44 AM »
anyone can advice on this?

I experienced jerky acceleration lately.. It happens when i step on the accelerator and it kinda get a delayed reaction to move of with a light jerk..

its also scary when i am going up a car park.. sometimes the car doesnt move as quickly as it should even if i accelerates harder.. and intermittently jerks a little going up a spiral car park..

Thanks!

Hi bb88wa

I just had a similar experience today (more serious than yours) and now it Sunday and I can't find any workshop.

My encounter are as follows:
1) Car out of sudden vibrate continuously.
2) Can't seem to accelerate beyond 40km/hr.
3) Idle rpm less than 500rpm as if the engine is gonna stall anytime.

Kindly post a reply if you have gotten your car fixed (where) and what parts are damaged (servicing cost)?

Thanks.

hi.. my car seems to have this problem intermittently.. I have send to my mechanic and nothing has been faulted to be replaced.

I probably go check out the spark plug coil and see if its the issue.

Thanks! Will update if i can get it fixed.

Went to Kelvin and Lim to check the problem... miraculously, car didnt show any signs of the problem... drove out and the problem came back.. thanks for assisting to check even though my car behaved itself.. great service and will definitely come back to your workshop in future.

My problem got kinda fix with this simple solution offered by a friend. he mentioned.. pump v-power or 98 and the problem should go away.. I did just that and filled up with 98.. so far so good... keeping my fingers crossed now. i used to pump shell 95.

Now monitoring to see if this is a fix..

I not as lucky.

Replaced the following on my 7.5yrs Latio:
1) Coil Ignition Plug x 4pcs
2) Spark Plug x 4pcs
3) Battery x 1pc (as it more than 2.5yrs)
Total: $1,125

Just hope that it can last me for another 2.5yrs (till end of COE).
