Any bros got any workshop to recommend to replace air con compressor in northern side? Since this seems to be a common prob for latio 3 years and above...I don't want to go to TC due to bad experiences with them

Just asked TC to enquire to top up air con gas as aircon not cold....wanted to charged me $80. Told them I NPMP..still say must pay. Pui!!

Outside workshops charge only $20...which is why I really dislike going to TC...

Last time a lot of stuff on goodwill... but now seems like everything also charge.
If you enquire with the advisor, he will say the prices are already discounted.

Can i check what may be the signs & symptons of a faulty alternator.

I use a Pioneer HU (2yrs old). 

Recently, on start up, there will be power supply to the HU, but once I switch on my AC, power supply to the HU wil be cut for about 20s before sound comes back.  (for about 2 weeks already)

I changed my 2yr old Amaron MF batt  yesterday but the same sympton persists.

Could this be a HU or alternator problem?

For advise pls.

4 years 8 months - Cooling coil leaking replaced.
5 years 6 months - Now sometime not cold. Check by workshop found no leak. Mechanic in JB comment the compressor may need to change (RM400 for recon unit). I suspect the magnetic clutch not good sometime not engage because when you press the "air-con" button, the rpm went up but do not hear the distinctive magnetic clutch engage "teac" sound.

1) hissing sound heard constantly inside cabin, most properly cooling coil.
2) hissing sound heard constantly outside cabin, most properly aircon gas leaking somewhere.
3) compressor sometimes kick in, sometimes does not, compressor clutch.

Any recommendation to resolve this air con issue of mine?

For the past 1 year, 2 times I encountered air con not working, pump gas 1st time, it lasted like 6 to 8 mth, then not working again. Pump gas again, lasted for 2 months. Prior to it breaking down, I do smell something when running air con. Now I can also hear noise produced when I turn on the air con.

How much will be the damage?

1) On air-con, sometimes can hear louder air con start up sound, like those in home freight, "Tearzzz" a few sec then back to normal sounding, compressor problem? Only experience this during over night parking start up, rest of the day dun encounter this louder ac start up sound..

2) Off radio with air con on, example during traffic lights wait, can at times hear very faint hissing sound for that few sec when air con kicks in then gone & when air con kicks in again, can hear the very faint hissing sound again, think is the gas traveling inside the air con, is the cooling coil problem?

3) So far air con is still cold expect for above 2 symptoms..
