Spark plugs change
« on: September 05, 2012, 11:28:20 PM »
Hi all

Have reached my 100k milestone. Mechanic advised need to change spark plugs. Quoted 200 for material and labour. Is it expensive for this ? I heard latio spark plugs not easily changed, as have to removed quite a lot of things.

Try get the plugs from other source which cost about $110 for a set of 4 and get the workshop that service your car to change. Labour usually charges between $30 to $60.

Total may cost around $150 and the balance can still pump petrol....probably 3/4 tank.

Yes bro. You need to reset your ecu about $50- 60 usually. I changed my spark plugs at kelvin bro's workshop about 2 months ago.

Will recommend you ask him for a quote.

I just had my spark plugs replaced Iridium and throttle cleaned. Idling too high but mechanic said to drive for a few days as the computer will usually self-adjust. Your thoughts?

Yep, ECU need to re-learn your driving habit again. No worry.

You may also faced a higher FC for this tank and next.

On NPMP, change of spark plugs is at which mileage interval, 10K?
Bought a 2nd hand latio, the servicing history didn't indicated any change of sparks plugs.
Car's cuurently up for 54k servicing & TC recommended i go for package B -  change of sparkies with additional charges...

Any idea what sparkies to use for latio 4AT?
Spec?
Thanks

i am not on npmp but the recommended interval for change is 100K km for the plugs.....

my car is now 180K km and i change at 100K & 160K (cos car left 2yrs so change earler rather than later)
