Air Con Blower Resistor
« on: April 02, 2016, 04:48:44 PM »
Hi Guys, yesterday my air con blower just suddenly to stop working. No warning no weird sounds. it just stopped.
Turned out it was the blower resistor (the one with 2 connecting ports and looks like some sort of motherboard).
I was charged $300 for the resistor incl labour. Nothing else done.
Got a feeling I was overcharged. this is my regular workshop but somehow for some reasons I felt $300 was way too much.
Workshop may not have intentionally overcharged, but may have charged wrongly.

Any one change the blower resistor ONLY? how much did it cost?
Please advise.

If just changed resistor as per described, definitely overcharged.  :(

The part you mentioned could be the aircon control module. I recently changed blower and control module. So I feel the price you paid is about the same as me.

For the aircon control module + blower fan, I paid 400+. I also shocked to hear the total cost. But no choice the weather so hot so just pay and get it fixed.
