Seeking for help on Nissan latio FC
« on: June 20, 2016, 12:27:51 AM »
Hi all,

I just gotten a nissan latio 2008 premium 3 months ago. As i only achieved 12.5 to 13.0 Km/L fuel consumption.

As my tire pressure is set at 240 kpa and 230 kpa. Will this be the reason why i don't achieve 14.0km or higher?

If possible please share with me your FC achieved.

Hi....

Getting 12.5 to 13 km/l is consider quite OK liao.....

There are few things you need to consider...

1. Tyre size....Stock at 15in?
2. Tyre pressure... yours is ok as current...
3. Any mod to the car?
4. Car servicing regularly?
5. Your right foot....Be gentle.
6. City driving more or High way more?

Hope it help...

It is quite normal to get that FC for daily driving.

If you want to have better FC, be gentle with the gas pedal and keep to 80km/h on highway.

Hi to both of you,

I just changed to 230kpa for all wheel. But don't seem like the fuel consumption improve. By the way, is it true that Nissan Latio CVT change gear at 2.5 rpm?

Furthermore any recommendation for engine oil and CVT oil brand?

Lastly I saw a post stated that changing spark plug might improve fuel consumption?

1. Tyre size....Stock at 15in?
Yes
2. Tyre pressure... yours is ok as current...
Changed to 230kpa 4 wheel so which set up is more suitable for Latio?
3. Any mod to the car?
Only change to k&N air filter
4. Car servicing regularly?
Yes did 2 months back.
5. Your right foot....Be gentle.
How do you define the gentleness level? As I always ram to 2.5rpm as and when I can.
6. City driving more or High way more?
Should be both.

Hi,

Welcome to the Latio Club :)

As previously mentioned by others, your fuel consumption is consider normal for Latio already. I am driving 75% expressway also getting roughly this fuel consumption. Everything stock except K&N filter.

Just enjoy your ride and dun be too bother bout the fuel consumption bah.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Fam

I usually get 12 to 13km/l on 50/50 highway/urban driving.

The only time I got 14km/l was when I had to drive to/fro Tuas via AYE for a couple of weeks.

I usually pump 5 to 10 psi more than the recommended. My fc range btw 14 to 15 plus. Occasionally drop to 13 plus and go above 15 plus. 75% city and 25% highway driving. But the routes I took for city driving has little jams and is relatively smooth. I need to stop only when there are traffic lights. I amazed when my fc at 15 km/liter or higher. I thought something wrong with my car. Lol.

I guess, Latio FC is more or less around that unless u go for looong journey where the consumption is much better then.

For me, I drive in city area and the consumption is around 11 to 13kml max.

Only when I go for long journeys, then I get very good.  for that I can get upto 20 kml.  I have tested this during my journey to Penang and that time I even get upto 22 which is very good.

But most important, try not to ram too much above to 2.5RPM.  And try to stay your speed around 80-85Kpm.  Best & Ideal  condition.

My car already 8 years and I still maintain it and send for service every 10K.  Great car but only problem is gearbox which after 120K gave up on me.

Other than that, maintenance is extremely low key & car is very reliable too.

Cheers.
